Thank you to all the bands who played Adefest 6 yesterday, and to the people who came down (many regular people were away for the last bank holiday of the year.) But despite many being away, we still raised £503.00 (and a few pence) on the day itself, which will be added to the JustGiving page tomorrow. I will then share the page again, so people who couldn't make it can still donate to the Prostate Cancer UK Fund, as we want the total to get a little closer to the hoped £1000 mark.
Meanwhile, here are some candid photos I took and photos of the magnificent headliners I SEE ORANGE, who were lovely guys, and came up from Swindon to share their unique take on grunge (and more) with us. Their album "Pining for Apollo" will be released on September the 4th, and they are playing an album launch gig in London at The Troubadour on the 5th. These are a very special band and people who couldn't make it don't know what they were missing.
Thank you also to The Paul Austin Band. - a hard working, hard playing rock n' roll outfit who came all the way from Middlesborough on the back of two gigs the previous two nights to play and help us raise money (they did, while raising hell!) and thanks to Trevor Hopkins for his fantastic suggestion of this solid, charismatic act.
Cheers to Sad Vacation for bringing their brand of light and heavy alternative rock back to the The Station - I'm sure their drummer must have been a stone lighter when he left the stage - no wonder he wasn't sure which size T shirt to purchase! Great stuff guys and thank you so much!
Thank you to the fantastic Guns For Girls for coming from the beautiful county of Shropshire, and bringing family with them also, who seemed to enjoy the day immensely. These guys impressed with their tight and controlled grungy rock and like the other bands were all really pleasant guys.
The Mad Badgers were a popular choice, bringing their style of punk with a shot of ska to proceedings, and got the crowd going with their spiky music and hairstyles.
Sig And The Fire Pilots stripped down to a two piece delivered an impressive, slick set to open up as the first beers were going down.
Debstar Cartwright-White , Carl and the volunteers of The Lighthouse Community Cafe in Hednesford provided a range of amazing savoury and sweet food for the event, which raised a significant proportion of the day funds for the charity, so eternal thanks to them for their incredible and essential contributions this year and the last two years.
David Clarke provided his amazing venue The Station as always for Adefest and his brilliant team were the foundation of the event itself. Thanks to all the staff and mixing guys for keeping it smooth and to my cousin Nate Bradbury for covering door duties.
Thanks as ever to co-organiser Sarah Dekany who provided much of the merch and has excelled at designs and products over the years based around Ade's art!
