🦌 A Family Complete 🦌

Some commissions are extra special because they’re part of a story.

A while ago, I had the pleasure of creating a majestic stag for a wonderful customer. I was absolutely delighted when they got back in touch and asked me to add to him — this time with a doe and her fawn, creating a complete family. ❤️

Seeing all three standing together is something else. The stag watching proudly over them, with the doe and little fawn beside him — they look like they were always meant to be together.

There’s something incredibly rewarding about a customer returning and trusting me to add another chapter to a piece I’ve already created for them.

I think they look absolutely stunning as a family. 🦌🦌🦌

I am incredibly proud to announce that Woody’s Workshop is now fully booked for 2026! 🙌❤️

There’s something incredibly therapeutic about creating with your hands… taking a piece of cold, hard metal and slowly turning it into something full of character, movement and meaning.

And that’s exactly what I love about what I do. ❤️

Every commission is different. Every piece is handmade. And behind every sculpture is an idea, a memory, a passion or a story that someone wants to bring to life.

This jumping horse is a perfect example. 🐎⚒️

From the first piece of metal to the finished sculpture, there’s something incredibly satisfying about watching an idea come to life… and I feel incredibly lucky and honoured that I get to do that every day.

✨ Piaffe in Steel ✨

There’s something so powerful and elegant about a dressage horse in piaffe — strength, balance and movement, all captured in a single moment.

I absolutely love how this sculpture has turned out. Even before its final powder-coated finish, it already has such presence. 🐎

Once finished, it’ll be heading to its new home where it will take pride of place amongst the rolling hills of Helmshore. I genuinely can’t wait to see this one in situ — I think it’s going to look absolutely stunning against that landscape.

A sculpture that tells a story…

This striking jumping horseshoe horse and planter sculpture was inspired by a photograph taken over 20 years ago. The amazing thing is, the horse is still very much part of the family today, making this piece a celebration of decades of memories, adventures and the incredible bond between horse and owner.

Every horseshoe has been carefully placed to capture the character and posture from that treasured photograph, transforming a special moment into a timeless work of art. Finished in a beautiful satin black powder coat, the sculpture has a sleek, elegant finish that really makes the flowing lines stand out while ensuring it will remain protected for years to come.

Designed to soar gracefully over the planter, it’s more than just a sculpture—it’s a real statement piece that will continue to change with the seasons as the planting below grows and flourishes.

I’m incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful returning customers who continue to trust me with commissions that mean so much to them. There’s no greater compliment than being asked back to create another piece for someone’s home.

These are the sculptures I love making the most. They’re not just made from steel—they’re made from memories, stories and a lifetime of special moments.

There’s something special about bringing together materials that couldn’t be more different… and making them feel like they were always meant to belong.

This horse head sculpture starts with raw, reclaimed horseshoes, each carrying its own history, character and imperfections. They tell the story of strength, hard work and the horses that once wore them.

In contrast, the flowing leaves are crafted from brushed stainless steel, adding light, movement and elegance. Over time, the copper elements will continue to develop a natural verdigris patina, ensuring the sculpture evolves with age and becomes even more beautiful as nature leaves its own signature. Hidden within are touches of gilding that catch the light in just the right way, adding a quiet sense of luxury without taking away from the honesty of the steel.

Every stainless leaf can also be individually engraved with names or personal messages, creating a truly one-of-a-kind piece that carries memories as well as craftsmanship.

This isn’t just welded steel. It’s countless hours of design, fabrication, problem-solving, and passion. Every cut, every weld and every finish has a little piece of my heart and soul in it.

I’m incredibly proud of where my work is heading, and this feels like another step towards the fine art I’ve always wanted to create.

🐴🔨 MORE THAN JUST A GATE 🔨🐴

There’s something really special about creating a piece that tells someone’s story… 🤎

This bespoke gate was designed and handcrafted completely from scratch, built around my customer’s vision from our very first conversation.

But this one had an extra special detail… 🐴✨

I was given her own horseshoes to incorporate into the design, using them to spell out the names of her horses. I then created the horse itself using horseshoes worn by her own horse.

It doesn’t get much more personal than that. 🤎

From the initial design and fabrication, to the tiny handmade details, every stage of this gate was completed by me before it was fully galvanised for long-lasting protection and finally returned home to be installed. 🔨🔥

Projects like this are exactly why I love what I do.

Taking someone’s idea, something that genuinely means something to them, and turning it into a completely one-of-a-kind piece they get to see every single day is incredibly rewarding.

And her reaction when she finally saw it in place? 🥹🐴

Safe to say… she was absolutely delighted. And so was I. 🤎

There’s something timeless about a working dog in the countryside.

This satin black Labrador, proudly carrying a pheasant, was created to celebrate that bond between dog, field and tradition. Every detail has been handcrafted from steel before being finished in an elegant satin black powder coat, giving it a subtle sheen that really comes to life in the natural surroundings of the farm.

Seeing it back where it belongs, surrounded by barns, fields and fresh country air, makes all the hours in the workshop worthwhile.

Forged from reclaimed horseshoes, this life-size pacer captures more than just a moment — it captures motion itself.

Every detail of the horse has been carefully studied and recreated to reflect the true anatomy of a harness racer in full stride… the tucked-up belly, flared nostrils, pinned-back ears, and powerful forward drive that every racing fan recognises instantly.

In contrast, the sulky has been created in an abstract style — stripped back and flowing — giving the illusion of speed, movement, and energy as if the whole piece is still charging down the track.

A blend of realism and abstraction, strength and motion, all forged in steel. 🐎
