Back in the Summer of 2017 myself and a wonderful group of ladies ( and a Wizard) birthed River-Moor Coven based in Camelford.
Our inspiration was the popular band of witches "Wolfshagger Hexenbrut" from Germany. We learn most of their dances to perform but throw in a healthy dose of our own too.
Since I moved nearer to Saltash/Callington, the Camelford River-Moor Coven continue to meet and rehearse and I join them whenever possible. We are actively recruiting more lovely witches and are delighted to announce that we will be starting another branch of River-Moor in Callington for folk in and around the general area.
Our aim is for our new witches to learn the current dances so that we can perform at festivals, ceremonies and other such fun events with our Camelford group.
To date we have performed at:
Kindred Spirits Festival twice
Boscastle Beer and Wine Festival
Boscastle Raft Race Day Twice
Camelford Carnival Twice
Tintagel Carnival
We are also proud to have been asked to perform at a wedding on Halloween this year and also a Druidic Celebration.
We dress up imaginatively, we get huge enjoyment from the dancing, we have made friendships for life, we support encourage and lift each other up and our witches are maidens, mothers and crones.
Wizards are very welcome too!
(Maidens and Wizard apprentices need to be accompanied by their Mothers or a responsible adult for rehearsals and performances.)
If you join and make a commitment to stay you will need...
A besom
Witchy clothing
A sense of humour
Tena ladies (optional).
I have included a selection of photos and video links to give you an idea of what we do.
If you're interested please post here. If anyone can help with a rehearsal venue let me know.
