Congratulations to Professor Philippe Sands KC, who has been awarded an honorary degree by the University of Cambridge in recognition of his work in international law. πŸŽ‰

Philippe has been a regular contributor to the Cambridge Festival and most recently joined us in 2025 to discuss his acclaimed book 38 Londres Street: On Impunity, Pinochet in England and a N**i in Patagonia.

Part memoir, part historical investigation and part courtroom drama, the book uncovers a remarkable story connecting events across continents and decades, while exploring questions of justice, accountability and memory.

🎬 You can catch up with Philippe's Cambridge Festival talk on our YouTube channel, where he discusses the inspiration behind the book and the surprising discoveries he made during his research.
