Willingham Youth Trust

Willingham Youth Trust Willingham Youth Club in conjunction with Willingham Parish Council provides facilities and support for young people in Willingham and the local area.

Willingham Youth Club, originally established by the Willingham Youth Trust (WYT) in 2010, has been a cornerstone of community support for young people in Willingham. Sparked by a Parish Survey that identified a need for dedicated youth facilities, the initiative was spearheaded by Rev Trevor Rowe and driven by a committed team of trustees and volunteers. Their efforts culminated in the transforma

tion of a space in the Ploughman Hall into a vibrant and inclusive youth clubhouse. Mission and Activities
Willingham Youth Club provides a welcoming environment where children in Years 6 to 8 can enjoy social interaction, games, and structured support. In partnership with the Connections Bus Project, the club offers weekly sessions run by qualified youth workers and volunteers. These sessions aim to develop important life skills, offer emotional support, and create a safe space to unwind and connect. Transition and Current Operations
In June 2025, the Willingham Youth Trust completed its mission and was officially disbanded. Responsibility for the ongoing operation of the Youth Club was transferred to Willingham Action Group (WAG) volunteers, Willingham Parish Council (WPC), and the Connections Bus Project. WPC now manages the Youth Club building, making it available for hire to local organisations serving young people, including dance groups, toddler sessions, and activity clubs. The space can also be hired for birthday parties and community events. Get Involved
Willingham Youth Club thrives on community support and is always seeking new volunteers to join the team. If you're interested in making a difference in the lives of local youth, please get in touch.

(15-21 June) is just around the corner! https://refugeeweek.org

Cambridgeshire Libraries and Cambridgeshire County Council both have Sanctuary status and we’re proud to play a role in welcoming people into our communities.

To mark the occasion, why not join us at Wisbech Library on Tuesday 16 June (7-9pm) for a free screening of this year's Refugee Week films? This will be a chance to come together, learn, and reflect on the experiences of people seeking safety. Stay afterwards for an open conversation and light refreshments.

Book your free place on Eventbrite or just come along: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/film-screening-tickets-1991156913930

On Saturday 20 June (2-3pm), you can come along to Cambourne Library for an event with author Manish Chauhan. He will introduce his novel, Belgrave Road, a love story and powerful portrait of the lived realities of immigrants in Britain.

Tickets £3; book at the library or by contacting [email protected].

Lastly, you can also join us at Cambridge Central Library on Saturday 20 June, when we’ll be hosting a Refugee Week Community Fair (11am-3pm). You can come along to meet a range of local organisations and find out what makes Cambridge a place of welcome. There will also be drop-in activities including crafts, board games, embroidery, a very special storytime and more.

Free and all welcome. For more details and to register your interest, visit our Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/refugee-week-community-fair-at-cambridge-central-library-tickets-1990180031047
