Grammy Award-winning soprano Amanda Forsythe speaks to Bachtrack about Telemann's dramatic cantata, Ino, ahead of concerts this month:

"it isn’t done very often, and it’s fantastic! It’s hard to program because it’s such a tour de force for the singer, and the orchestra is quite large – horns, flutes, the whole shebang. It’s a whole opera crammed into 35 exciting minutes."

Our Estonian debut! Here we are in rehearsal and concert with the wonderful (Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir) and conductor Tõnu Kaljuste, performing works by JS Bach and Arvo Pärt as part of Arvo Pärt Days 2026.

A limited number of fully funded places are now available on the Baroque Orchestra Course (1–8 August 2026), for one violinist, and two viola players to join them on a 100% scholarship, with accommodation and catering included.

First performed on this day, 17 July, in 1717, here's Suite No.2 in D major, Alla Hornpipe, from Handel's Water Music.

Originally performed in a concert on the Thames for King George I by a floating orchestra alongside the Royal Barge, it's performed on here on period instruments by Academy of Ancient Music.

Our new recording of Arthur Sullivan's Songs for Tenor with David Webb, conducted by John Andrews for Resonus Classics, is now available to stream!

We're delighted to have been part of this project, making the first recording of Gilbert and Sullivan on period instruments, offering a sound closer to that heard in Victorian drawing rooms, concert halls and band stands than the modern pit.
