"Present Laughter" opens tonight at Theatre Royal Bath

We’re delighted to have played a part in bringing this stunning production to the stage.

For this new adaptation of Noël Coward’s "Present Laughter", we printed the striking monochrome carpet and cityscape backdrop, helping to create the distinctive visual world of the set.

We were delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Production Designer Sarah Milton and her team, revisiting a project we first worked on together back in 2022.
For this latest production, the brief was to recreate the original window set, introducing a fresh view selected from our extensive “London 225” image library.

From the initial concept, our in-house artwork team developed and adapted the selected image across five individual panels, carefully considering the composition and alignment to ensure the artwork flowed seamlessly across the complete window design.
Once approved, the final artwork was prepared for print and checked through our pre-print process before production.

We produced five acrylic panels, each measuring 2360mm x 1012mm, printed direct to media using a triple-layer process. This created the striking effect of a black-framed window, adding depth and realism to the finished set.

The completed panels were then delivered to Estdales, who carried out the set construction for Tern TV’s Sunday Morning Live.
It’s always a pleasure to revisit an established creative relationship and see a concept develop from the initial artwork through to the finished studio set. We look forward to working with Sarah and the team again on future productions.

Muswell Hill in North London provided the perfect backdrop for today's location shoot. Leafy suburbia, beautiful light and ideal conditions made it a great day for capturing the imagery needed for an upcoming contemporary drama.

Father-and-son duo Paul and Tom Rutter were out on location today, working together to photograph a series of carefully planned panoramic images. These will go on to become a stunning collection of "Day-to-Night" Translights, each measuring an impressive 5m x 15m

Capturing a location like this involves far more than simply taking a photograph. Each image must be carefully planned and precisely executed, ensuring that the final large-format scenic backdrop delivers the scale, detail and realism required to create a fully convincing environment on screen.

As a family-run business, there is something particularly fitting about Paul and Tom working side by side on projects like this. Decades of experience combined with the next generation, all focused on getting every detail just right.

We can't reveal too much about the production just yet, but we're looking forward to seeing these images transformed into immersive scenic backdrops for this exciting contemporary drama.

We were delighted to support the latest campaign for iconic British fashion house Lulu Guinness, providing a small but important element of the production for this beautifully considered collaboration with celebrated British artist and print designer Emma J Shipley.
The new limited-edition capsule collection, created in sustainable, recycled nylon, brings together Emma’s intricately hand-drawn illustrations with Lulu Guinness’ signature humour, playful glamour and unmistakable style.
Exploring a fantastical world of exotic creatures, jewel-toned colour and whimsical craftsmanship, Emma’s distinctive artwork has been reimagined across four of Lulu Guinness’ popular recycled nylon styles — the Pam, Millie, Macy and Noah — creating a collection that beautifully balances fantasy with functionality.

For the campaign, Rutters UK produced the striking visual panels, direct-to-media printed onto 5mm Foamex. Each panel was then precision-cut on our Zünd G3 L-3200. The combination of vibrant colour, fine detail and a crisp, high-quality finish was perfectly suited to showcasing Emma’s intricate artwork and the distinctive character of the collection.

We’re proud to have played a small part in this beautifully executed project and to have supported the Lulu Guinness design team in bringing their vision to life. It was a pleasure to see our print and finishing expertise contribute to such a distinctive and imaginative collection.

The Rutters UK team headed across the Irish Sea to Dublin on Tuesday for a whistle-stop trip. Then it was an early start—5:30am on location this morning—capturing three individual panoramic scenes, each destined to become a 30ft x 200ft day-to-night Translight for an exciting upcoming feature film.

Location photography at this scale is never as simple as pointing a camera. Every shot is carefully planned to capture the atmosphere, perspective and detail needed to create seamless large-format scenic backdrops that look completely authentic on screen—whether viewed in daylight or under the glow of studio lighting.

At the helm, as always, Paul Rutter, overseeing the shoot and ensuring every panoramic image met the exacting standards our clients have come to expect. From the early morning start to the final capture, every detail matters.

While we can't reveal the production just yet, we're excited to play a part in bringing another major movie project to life. We look forward to sharing more when the time is right.
