We’re pleased to share with you this month’s Word Salad feature act , joining us at our cosy ol’ night on Saturday 23rd 🥳

Antosh Wojcik is a writer, drummer, collaborating artist and co-founder of Sleepwalker Studios. His work explores memory, migration, heritage, time and glitches. He makes films with writer-director Xenia Glen, composes and drifts with polymath Nick Murray (), he drums for poet ’s dance/spoken word show Seder and he dabbles in games with Joel Auterson as rare mammals. He lives on a small holding in Dorset with his dog Meeko and three goats, Gary, Flo and Badger. Suburban Locust is his debut poetry collection, published by .

What a night! Thank you to all our open miccers last Saturday, and of course to the performance poetry powerhouse that is for being a first feature—you were all fabulous.

Very excited to welcome our Feature Artist for this Saturday’s WORD SALAD, ! Tickets going fast, don’t delay! Link in the bio 🎟️

Desree (she/they) is a London and Slough-based award-winning spoken word artist, writer, facilitator, and producer. Known for her powerful storytelling and advocacy through the arts, she has performed at major events and venues such as , in New York, and the Royal Albert Hall. As Poet in Residence for Glastonbury 2022, and , Desree explored the power of poetry in large cultural spaces.

Her debut poetry collection, Altar, (2025, ) is shortlisted for the Forward Poetry Prize, Best First Collection Award. The work examines sacrifice and its complex intersections with Black British identity, belonging, and resilience, challenging mainstream narratives of heroism. Desree’s previous projects include co-writing the award-winning spoken word play CROWDED and producing Slough’s EPF Poetry Fest and curating anthologies Words On Windrush and Poetry In The Pandemic. She has collaborated widely, working with organisations such as the National Literacy Trust, Synergy Theatre Project and . A TEDx speaker and a regular voice on BBC Radio Berkshire, Desree continues to foster creativity and community engagement through both live and digital platforms.
