The Singers' style is unusual. Repertoire encompasses jazz, show tunes and folk songs as well as opera and the classical repertoire. The singers' voices are individual and distinctive. In solos and small ensembles this permits a wide range of musical styles. Blended, the vo

ices produce a compelling and unique sound. All members of the Lucy Singers have a strong commitment to excellence which carries their natural love of singing to a higher level. Performing from memory fosters a powerful esprit de corps, as each singer must know the music both for her own sake and for the sake of her colleagues. This in turn creates a strong connection with the audience, as all the choir's energy is directed to sharing the music with the listeners. The choir is a non-profit organisation supported by donations as well as from subscriptions, ticket sales and performance fees. Thank you to all those who came to our concert 'Sinners, Saints & Sirens' on Sunday in Pembroke Auditorium. Opera lovers are in for a treat at our concert 'Sisters, Saints & Sirens' on 19 May at Pembroke Auditorium. The programme includes such much-loved favourites as Easter Hymn from Mascagni's 'Cavelleria Rusticana', the Chorus of Cigarette Girls from Bizet's 'Carmen', Viljia from Lehar's 'The Merry Widow', and the unforgettable Barcarolle from Offenbach's 'The Tales of Hoffman'. We are delighted to report that the concert has raised £865 for the Cambridge Food Bank. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us and helped to achieve such a great total!
