This striking original Polish poster was designed in 1975 by Ewa Procka for Martin Scorsese’s 1974 American comedy-drama Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (Alicja Już Tu Nie Mieszka).

Starring Ellen Burstyn in her Oscar-winning role, the film follows a newly widowed mother and her young son as they travel across America in search of independence and a better life. Procka’s design distills the film’s emotional core into a bold, expressive image characteristic of Polish poster art of the 1970s.
