In less than 15 minutes, the front row for our first performance was almost completely gone 🤯🎟️ We are honestly blown away already!

This year’s production of Clara and The Nutcracker is bigger, more magical and more ambitious than ever before… and with it being our Christmas production, we expect public demand to be much higher too 🎄✨

Priority booking is currently open for Steren families and friends, so now is the time to grab those seats!

🩶🦢 We are delighted to announce that Steren School of Ballet is now an official Silver Swans® School 🦢🩶

We are proud to bring the Royal Academy of Dance’s Silver Swans® programme to our community from September.

Congratulations to Miss Jess and Miss Sam, who have successfully completed their Silver Swans® training and are now officially registered Silver Swans® teachers through the RAD ✨

Silver Swans® classes have been thoughtfully designed for adults aged 55+, although classes are open to anybody looking to enjoy the many benefits of dance in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Whether you are returning to ballet after many years, have always wished you had started, or are simply looking for an enjoyable way to move, our classes are designed to be elegant, accessible and uplifting.

What to expect:
🦢 Beautiful, age appropriate ballet classes
🦢 Gentle work to support strength, posture, flexibility and balance
🦢 Musicality, artistry and expressive movement
🦢 A warm and sociable atmosphere with plenty of tea and conversation
🦢 Opportunities to improve confidence and wellbeing through dance

Alongside traditional ballet exercises and centre practice, dancers will also enjoy exploring repertoire and inspired choreography throughout the year. Classes may include adapted classical repertoire, beautiful music and opportunities to experience the joy and artistry of ballet in an enjoyable and achievable way.

There are just 6 weeks remaining to join Steren this term and take part in our December production of The Nutcracker 💫

Each year, our dancers come together to create something truly memorable. Weeks of rehearsals gradually transform into a beautiful theatre production filled with music, movement and moments our dancers remember long after the final curtain falls.

Open to dancers from age 3 through to adults, our production brings together performers across Ballet, Tap and Jazz in a full scale theatrical experience featuring

🎭 A professional style production
👗 Costumes and beautifully designed staging
💡 Professional lighting and theatre effects
🎶 Live performance atmosphere
🤍 Performing to an audience of over 600

✨ Calling all crafty Steren families ✨

As we start looking ahead to Clara and The Nutcracker we’d love to create a little team of volunteers to help bring some of the magic to life behind the scenes 💛

This is **not a backstage helper group** and won’t involve supervision on show days. This is purely for prep beforehand and helping with things like:

⭐ Props
⭐ Costumes
⭐ Light sewing
⭐ Rhinestoning
⭐ Painting
⭐ Set making
⭐ Crafting and decorating
⭐ General creative jobs

All materials and resources will be provided by Steren and this is completely voluntary and unpaid. No experience needed at all ✨

✨ Our Magical Mermaid ✨

Huge congratulations to our wonderful Kerra, who I had the absolute joy of watching tonight as Ariel in Kidz R Us production of The Little Mermaid 🧜🏻‍♀️✨

From the moment she stepped onto the stage, she completely lit up the theatre with such warmth, confidence and magic. She has such a beautiful voice and danced so wonderfully throughout the entire show 💛

Watching dancers grow in confidence and artistry is such a lovely part of what I do, and tonight felt incredibly special. Kerra looked completely at home on stage and gave such a beautiful performance throughout.

The most magical little mermaid, and so deserving of all the applause tonight 🫧🐚✨

We are all so proud of you, Kerra 🌟

Now enjoy a well deserved rest after so many weeks of rehearsals, and I’ll see you back in ballet next week 🩰💛

Yesterday was truly magical at Steren ✨🦢

We welcomed Mr E into the studio for a full day of Swan Lake repertoire workshops with our dancers and what a special day it was from beginning to end.

As this was our very first repertoire workshop of its kind at Steren the atmosphere throughout the day felt incredibly exciting and inspiring for everyone involved. Having the opportunity to learn directly from Mr E and explore such iconic classical repertoire together made it a truly memorable experience for all of our dancers.

Our Lower School dancers began the day with Miss Jess learning a very sweet mini version of The Cygnets from Swan Lake. The dancers worked beautifully together in pairs exploring coordination, musicality, port de bras and early partnering skills whilst working in unison through the iconic choreography before creating their own swan headbands together 🦢🤍

Mr E then worked with our Middle School dancers on repertoire from the Pas de Trois focusing on classical épaulement, artistry and ballon followed by a solo coaching session for one of our Upper School dancers who learnt a Pas de Trois solo variation alongside some lovely technical and pointe coaching.

We finished the day with a completely full adult workshop where dancers learnt the Russian Princess variation from Swan Lake ✨ The adults absolutely embraced the boldness and character of the choreography exploring a more stylised side of classical ballet with powerful musicality, dynamic movement and expressive épaulement. It was such a fun and energising way to end the day.

We did not manage to get many photographs as Miss Jess spent the day assisting Mr E and dancing alongside him again in the studio which felt incredibly emotional and surreal. Mr E taught Miss Jess for six seasons of Duchy Ballet productions so to now have him working with Steren dancers was a huge full circle moment 🤍

The evening was made even more special by two of the old “big girls” from Duchy Ballet joining us too which made Miss Jess feel very emotional in the loveliest way. Seeing everyone back together in the studio felt so wholesome and special and such a lovely reminder that the friendships and connections built through dance stay with you forever.

And this is only the beginning…
