Reflecting on the things I now make.
Building:
I understand construction, shape and flow.
I think about balance, proportion and movement.
I’ve learned that sometimes the strongest designs don’t need more — they just need intention.
Creativity:
Choosing fabric carefully and thoughtfully.
Although I love frills, gathers and softness,
I’ve realised sometimes the print should do the talking.
A calmer shape can feel more flattering, more wearable and tell the story better.
Vision:
When I see fabric, I instantly imagine possibilities.
I rarely see fabric as fabric anymore — I see dresses, tops, details, pockets and ideas waiting to happen.
Recycle:
When I see duvet covers and tea towels & table linen (especially 100% cotton), I don’t see old fabric.
I see quality waiting for a second life.
I love taking something overlooked and letting it become something beautiful again.
Sewing:
I sew neater now.
More comfortable.
More intentional.
I don’t rush, which means less unpicking — and strangely that makes me faster.
Using my Industrial Jack Machine, felt intimidating.
I now feel like an it’s extension of my making process.
Processing:
Sewing is my calm.
My place to think,
process and follow the flow.
Sometimes in silence.
Sometimes with music.
Sometimes with audiobooks.
Sometimes with company.
Every version gives me something different.
But each stitch slows my thoughts and lets ideas settle.

Style:
I’ve learnt that style isn’t about following trends.
It’s about creating things I love — with meaning, intention and joy.
Creating clothes.
Telling stories.
Spreading joy.
One stitch at a time. 🐝
