🎶 Meet John William from ForCelebrations

We’re delighted to welcome award-winning Wedding DJ & Host John William to the Calstock Arts Wedding Fair on Sunday 4th October.

John’s approach is about getting to know each couple and creating a celebration that feels completely personal, pairing relaxed, confident hosting with a modern, energetic style of DJing.

From understated background music earlier in the day to a full dance floor at the end of the night, his focus is always on making the whole celebration flow naturally. His elegant reclaimed-oak DJ console and carefully considered lighting are designed to complement beautiful venues and will feel right at home in Calstock Arts Chapel.

A winner at the South West Wedding Awards 2025, John says:

“There really isn’t one most requested song, because every wedding is different. I get to know my couples properly so we can create a soundtrack that feels personal to them and works for their guests too. When the music reflects the people in the room, it naturally builds into a brilliant party by the end of the night.”

🌊 Jo in the Water + Q&A: Thursday 10 September

A wild swimmer takes on one of the UK’s biggest water companies. It sounds like a David and Goliath fight, and it is, but this documentary is really about hope.

Exmouth sea swimmer Jo Bateman never set out to be an activist. This film follows her as she stands up for our right to swim in clean water, and finds a whole movement of people doing the same. Featuring Chris Packham, Jeremy Vine and Jim Murray MBE.

Stay after the screening for a Q&A with director Pip Piper and Jo Bateman herself.

The best part: all ticket income (after costs) goes to local river charity Drip Drip. 💙

Our highly anticipated wedding fair on 4th October has a treasure trove of exhibitors for couples to meet!

One of the mysteries surrounding Calstock viaduct, which we’ll explore in the October screening of a new documentary film, is this: How many workers died in its construction? If indeed any? The records are unclear. Certainly, bridge building often caused fatalities. And THIS was no ordinary bridge, as we’ll see in The Struggle for Calstock Viaduct...
