We are shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Brian McFie, legendary guitar player with the Greig Taylor Band. Brian was a major figure in the Scottish music scene for over four decades and was a fantastic musician and accomplished artist. We pass on our condolences to his friends and family at this sad time. ❤

Last year was a landmark year for the festival reaching 20 years since it first started back in 2006 as the Callander Jazz Festival. After 20 and 16 years involvement respectively, John and Duncan are stepping down from organising the annual Callander Jazz & Blues Festival. The Callander Community Development Trust, the major community group in Callander, have agreed to help coordinated this year's transitional event, which will run from Friday October 2nd through to Sunday October 4th across five venues throughout the town. We would like to thank John, Duncan, Malcolm, Lorna and all the other volunteers that have been associated with the event over the years, especially Graham, who helped kick start the event. We would also like to thank all of you, the attendees and the amazing performers, who have made the Callander Jazz & Blues Festival famous and respected in Scotland, throughout the UK and across Europe and North America. Here's to more amazing festivals under new community leadership.

Honoured in our 20th year to have the Callander Jazz & Blues Festival recognised for the 4th year in a row in the 2026 UK Blues Federation Awards. We are short listed in the Top 20 UK Blues Festival Of The Year category alongside some of the UK's major Blues Festivals. A great acknowledgement for the town and for our volunteers, venues, performers and sponsors that make the festival happen every year, along with our amazing supporters. 👍

British-born, Canadian-raised Michelle Willis is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who amassed an impressive resume touring and recording with a variety of different acts like David Crosby, Snarky Puppy, Zac Brown Band, Hiromi, Michael McDonald, and Iggy Pop. See her perform next week at the Tolbooth Stirling on Saturday 7th February 2026, doors open at 7.30pm. Michelle has released two studio albums, a live record, and recently penned an EP whilst traveling throughout Scotland – Rich is the Wanderer.

The 3rd Tyneside Americana Blues Event is happening this weekend, with many past and present Callander Jazz & Blues Festival performers playing at the event. Dom Martin, Gerry Jablonski Band, STAN the BAND, The Terraplanes Blues Band and Tom Killner are all performing over the weekend along with many other top acts, if you're up for a musical weekend on the beautiful Tyneside Coast of Northumbria. The Tyneside Americana Blues Event at the King Street Social Club offers up two and a half days of fantastic music with a Burns Night special on Sunday night with the Bay City Rollers. "For a’ that, an’ a’ that."

Catch the Greig Taylor Band, The Fargo Railroad Co. and the Brian Rawson Band opening up 2026 with a punch. The Winter Blues Weekender is an all new 3 day festival happening at award winning venue The Exchange 1856 North Shields this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
