In celebration of the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team’s 60th anniversary we are holding an evening fell race around Longstone Edge and the surrounding hills and dales on Saturday 11th May from 4:30pm.

All proceeds from this event will support the essential work of the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team.

Thanks to everyone who bought our calendar!

We have sold around 90 all together and are mighty chuffed making around £400 for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team

It is not just human training and equipment that needs funded but these incredible rescue dogs.

There are a few calendars left in Poole's Cavern, Buxton High St Post Office, PT Corner and Appleyards to***conists.

Please do buy one. They are a thing of joy for a whole year and a bit!! And will help a blooming marvellous cause (in the words of Raymond Briggs’ Father Christmas)

The fabulous Buxton Mountain Rescue Team are out and about fundraising tomorrow at the Buxton light switch on. They have some calendars to sell.

Go say hi to them and ask about the incredible work they do. They are fabulous humans.

We are running low on numbers now. If you’d like one let us know. We can always get some more printed but need idea for numbers.

BCA happily supports local emergency services training regularly in .
18 team members from Buxton Mountain Rescue Team 🚑, who are all , received training and valuable practice in realistic conditions recently in Grin Low & Corbar. Mark, BMRT's training officer said "I've been on a number of call outs in the woods over the years, so access for training etc. is very valuable to us and does really help ensure our effective response to those in need of help."

Today marks Mountain and Cave Rescue awareness day.

To commemorate the amazing work that our partners at Mountain Rescue England and Wales do, we have created this data visualisation using call-out data from 2019-2023, showing the most common areas that Mountain Rescue attend to.

Thank you to all the fantastic Mountain Rescue team members who are on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Some lovely Buxton folks have come together to make a gorgeous calendar to raise funds for Buxton Mountain Rescue Team

They are £10 each and will brighten every month of the year for you or someone you like.

Just over £5 for each one will go to Mountain Rescue. All of the artwork has been created for free.

You don’t have to be from Buxton to enjoy it.

You can order by messaging this page. Payment by BACS or PayPal info will be shared.

UK second class postage for 1 is an additional £2.40. For 2 is £2.70.

Local folks can pay cash and collect from one of the team.
