There was clay. Shadow puppets. The worst drawing game. Ideas that worked, ideas that didn't, and group projects that occasionally went a little wonky 👩🏼‍🎨

Over five weeks of The Studio, we gave young people time and space to play, experiment and explore where their creativity might take them.

Along the way, we began to notice some small but rather lovely shifts. Young people started making their own creative choices, discovered what interests them, and grew confidence in their own way of making.

Watching that happen – and seeing them laugh, experiment and make the space their own – has been a real privilege.

The nice thing about stories is that they don't always end when the performance does.

They have a habit of turning up at bedtime, appearing on rainy afternoons and sneaking into conversations over breakfast.
