My name is Sally Goulding and I am an artist with a lifetimes experience in drawing, painting and creativity. I am a 4th generation artist in my family and I first began teaching children and adults in 2004 from my Bury studio. As well as teaching I completed a variety of commissions ranging from pet portraits to calligraphy. I also worked on several shop and children's murals as part of my first
business "Mural Magic" and assisted the "John Hassall Studio" with several shop window murals additionally acting as a supply tutor to his watercolour classes. Several years later this was followed by my second business "The Chocolate Strawberry". Working as a cake designer I completed commissions for celebration cakes and supplied yummy cakes and also handmade cards to a local cafe. After breaking off to start a family I began teaching again in 2016 from the "John Hassall Studio" and in 2017 "Art Classes For Children" was born. Here, further classes were added to the week and more recently the launch of "Paint a pARTy". Later I was joined by my husband Andy who now teaches the older children in the intermediate drawing and beginners acrylics classes. Like many families and businesses we were hit by the pandemic but it didn't stop us. Classes moved online during lockdown and we spent the summer that followed working on a plan to re-open safely. In October 2020 we relaunched at Clark Craft in Ramsbottom with larger, well spaced and ventilated class sizes, and plenty of other important safety measures in place. Up and running again we used the 3rd lockdown to consider further improvements that we could make. In April 2021 we secured a brand new Art Classes For Children art studio in the very heart and hub of Ramsbottom within the Stitch Studio on Bridge Street. Here we were able to return to smaller class sizes within a safe and more permanent setting. Never sitting still when we know there's room for improvement, in August 2022 we moved two streets away to somewhere a little more accessible and spacious and settled in to our current space on 54A Bolton Street. With the knowledge and experience we have gained over the years since we first opened in 2017 we're so happy to be able to teach 5 days a week and safely continue to inspire, nurture and support 102 young artists a week on how to be even better at what they love doing! Classes offer a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere but with a gentle routine. The children learn without it feeling too much like school. The children improve their drawing skills and master basic watercolour techniques in the younger classes and older children can learn basic acrylics and more advanced drawing techniques. Classes start from Β£15.00 an hour per child**
Maximum of 8 pupils in the younger classes and 10 in the older classes.
