HALLOWEEN PARTY!

Halloween is creeping up, and we’re getting ready to unleash a night of absolute MONSTER MAYHEM at Arcade Club Bury! On Friday 30th October, we’re decking out the venue, turning up the tunes and inviting you lot to join us for our HALLOWEEN PARTY TAKEOVER!

Over in the adult room, a monstrous PARTY is taking over! We’re going full-blown Monster Mash, with massive tunes either side of some black belt karaoke, amazing light shows and plenty of excuses to wake the dead.

Get those costumes ready, because we’ll be handing out SPOT GIVEAWAYS AND PRIZES throughout the night for amazing fancy dress and anyone throwing themselves into the Halloween spirit!

Add in SPOOKY DECOR throughout the venue, FOOD AND DRINK SPECIALS all night and hundreds of arcade games, and you’ve got yourself one hell of a Friday night.

Be there. Be scared.

Sometimes we see something come up for sale, and the memories of playing it make us do unreasonable, and yes, sometimes very silly things!

Scarface’s Shooting Range is precisely that sort of thing.

We rescued this beast from the pier in Blackpool and have spent the last week bringing it back to life. It’s huge, it’s ridiculous, and it’s something we’ve never had at Arcade Club before!

It’s now ready for you all to enjoy on the ground floor. Be careful, though… this one has a few surprises built into it. 😉

The Music of Gaming Live: Winter Edition! Tuesday 15th December

Following the success of their first Arcade Club performance, we’ve invited the Ancoats String Quartet back to Bury for a special Winter Edition on Tuesday 15th December!

Just like last time you can expect a live string soundtrack spanning video game favourites, only this time with a little bit of winter flavour rolled in, all performed live inside Europe’s biggest arcade.

Doors open from 6pm, with the ground floor arcade open to play before the performance, which will begin at approximately 7pm.

After the performance, the ground floor will reopen, with the arcade staying open until 11pm.

A huge thank you to everyone who’s grabbed a ticket. We cannot wait to welcome Dominik to Arcade Club and get you all in the room on Friday night.

Missed out on a ticket? While we can’t squeeze anyone else into the show itself, Dominik will be sticking around after the performance for a meet & greet, signing and photos, so if you’re visiting Arcade Club that evening, you’ll still have a chance to come and say hello once the show has finished.

For one very special night, the writer and presenter of the iconic 90s TV show GamesMaster is coming to Arcade Club with Dominik Diamond Sings the Video Games.

Dominik Diamond Sings the Video Games lifts the curtain on the games you love and tells you the REAL story of the characters you have spent years forcing to run, jump, drive, and fight on screen.

Part stand up, part concert and with occasional audience participation, the show from the writer and presenter of the iconic 90s TV show GamesMaster squeezes every last drop of humour, poignancy and cynically placed double entendres out of insanely catchy melodies.

From the dating problems of PacMan to the HR mistakes that led to Space Invaders, this is your favourite games, spun in comic directions you’ve never seen or heard before.

Bank Holiday Monday it’s a Monday, but nobody trusts it...

The shops behave strangely. The roads become inexplicably full, while Tuesday sits in the distance pretending it isn’t going to happen.

Fortunately, Arcade Club is open!

Which means you can spend the day doing something considerably more sensible: playing hundreds of arcade games for one entry price!

No coins. No tokens. You pay once. Everything’s on free play. You stay as long as you like.

It is, when you think about it, an extremely efficient way of avoiding Tuesday.

Tuesday remains unavoidable, but that’s tomorrow’s problem.

Four games at Arcade Club Bury you probably haven’t played!

Reactor: Nuclear physics, but make it an arcade game. Released by Gottlieb in 1982, you’re essentially trying to stop a reactor having a very bad day while being bullied by subatomic particles. Cheerful stuff.

Q*bert’s Qubes: You’ve played Q*bert... right? But have you played the considerably rarer, considerably more confusing sequel? There's more cubes, thats a given.

Wacko: An alien, a trackball, a joystick and one of the wonkiest arcade cabinets ever made.

Major Havoc: Atari’s glorious 1983 vector oddity: part shooter, part platformer, part maze game and even a little bit of Breakout thrown in for good measure. Also… is it just us, or did a certain Hideo Kojima take one look at the Major Havoc logo and file it away for later?

We’re not saying the Metal Gear Solid logo nicked it.

We’re just saying Major Havoc got there first...and Metal Gear Solid turned out alright, to be fair.
