What a super lovely thing twinning is xx

We’ve got so much to look forward to this year.

A huge thank you to our brilliant committee. The new team has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes doing the serious stuff - updating policies, strengthening our foundations, and putting everything in place so we can access grants and attract supporters. Not the most glamorous volunteer job, definitely a learning curve for some of us but it means more opportunities, more exchanges and more twinning fun for everyone.

It’s brilliant to see more schools getting involved, along with local groups and venues. A big welcome to Scottie’s in Ramsbottom, lovely to have you on board!

Of course we’ve got our traditional visits - welcoming friends from Tulle to Bury and heading to Angouleme this year - we’ve also got sporting and cultural group exchanges going on.

It’s not all passports, planes, visas and have I got the right size suitcase! We’ve got plenty happening here at home - our loyal long term members look forward to meet ups at our lunches, themed evenings, Ceildah nights, days out, quiz night at Trackside ( now we’ve got a winning team 🤣) and whatever other ideas people come up with to fund raise.

The best bit? The friendships. That’s the core of twinning, meeting fascinating interesting people, sharing experiences and enjoying each other’s company. Making connections that last across towns, countries and generations.

Exciting times ahead. If you’ve ever wondered what twinning is about, now’s the time to join us. You will be very welcome.

Start feeling the Xmas spirit at the Ramshackle Wailers Christmas Choiraoke event on Sunday 21st December.

We'll teach you the harmonies to some of your favourite Xmas pop songs and you can munch on a complimentary mince pie and slurp some Mulled Wine from the bar at Ramsbottom Cricket Club whilst you learn the tunes.

Wear your Xmas Jumper or Xmas Elf ears and sing-a-long with mouths and hearts full of Xmas Cheer.
