WHO WANTS THE BURY ST EDMUNDS CARNIVAL BACK NEXT YEAR 🎉

Who thinks it's time to bring the Bury St Edmunds Carnival back to our beautiful town?
This year, Bury Bowl celebrates 38 years, and if I'm honest, it would be my absolute dream to help bring our carnival back for the whole community.
I have so many happy childhood memories of standing and watching the amazing floats go by. I'd love nothing more than to help create those same magical memories for today's children and grandchildren.
Who remembers all the Van Melle sweets being thrown from the floats? 🤣 Those were the days!
Let's give our town something to be proud of again. Let's bring the community together and create an event everyone can enjoy.
I'd love for Bury Bowl to enter with our own decorated lorry and flatbed trailer, with my fantastic team all dressed up and joining in the fun! (I haven't actually told them yet... but I'm sure they'll be up for it! 🤣)
I'd even be willing to fund our own float myself.
Are there any other local businesses, community groups, schools, clubs or organisations who would love to get involved?
I believe the last carnival was in 2006. There were plans to bring it back in 2020, but sadly COVID stopped it, and although there were hopes for 2021, it never happened.
Let's make 2027 the year the Bury St Edmunds Carnival returns!

I would like to say a massive thank you to Sheri and her daughter for the lovely card & cakes for our team. It really was so lovely of you. They were very much enjoyed by all.

We really hope you feel better Sheri and we are so sorry you had to wait so long.

Sheri needed an ambulance at Bury Bowl as she had a spinal disc problem and other problems also. Sheri couldn't move bless her, she was in absolute agony.
Maria & Joe and another couple of staff members stayed and cared for Sheri for 4 hours waiting for an ambulance with sheri's daughter. Thankfully there was an ambulance passing through from either Colchester or Cambridge.
Maria was told it was originally going to be a 6 hour wait for an ambulance. 6 HOURS !

If I am honest I went to A&E myself last week. 5 hour wait. A&E was rammed. People everywhere who needed serious help.

I have a L5 bulging disc. I was bed bound all last week.
I have waited nearly 3 years for a spinal op. Worked full time throughout all of it.
Hopefully the op will be in the next month or two. Fingers crossed 🤞

The reason for this post is our town cannot cope with all these houses being built. The poor staff at West Suffolk Hospital is under so much pressure and stress.

I witnessed nurses and doctors working through all their breaks to help one another as they were all at breaking point.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to all the NHS staff at West Suffolk Hospital for all the amazing work you do. Im so sorry you don't get the support you all so deserve.

This country really needs a massive shake up and fast !

Stop building houses, our town can"t cope!

Lives are at risk!

To the scumbags who thinks its ok just to dump their waste at the top of our private car park please dont think you will get away with this. We have cctv everywhere. We are now viewing our cctv and we will pass your details to the police. You will be paying the charges we are paying to uplift your rubbish.

Please meet Billy. ❤️
Last week, Billy was really poorly and spent time in Addenbrooke's Hospital, where he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.
Today, he wanted to cheer himself up with a trip to Bury Bowl—and what a day he had! 🎉 He won the big 10,000-ticket jackpot and took home a huge teddy too!
Just look at the size of that smile. After such a difficult week, it's wonderful to see him so happy. Congratulations, Billy—you absolutely deserved this special moment! 💙.

Val is 86 with Dementia. She's taken care of by her lovely husband Ken and another carer.
Val done so well getting a spare bless her.
Clearly this weather isn't getting val down.
Her smile says it all.

Our Bury bowl family with special needs/disabilities keeping cool in our air conditioned bar with their carers today.
Safe to say they are all loving the air con bless them 🥰😍. Lovely to see them all comfortable and happy 🙂.

“Our bowling alley is fully air-conditioned, so if any of our elderly community members would like somewhere cool to relax over the next few days, you’re very welcome to join us in the bar area. It's lovely and quiet and cool.
It doesn’t matter how long you stay — whether it’s for a quick rest or a few hours, our doors are always open. You don't even need to purchase anything.
We would love the company and always ready for a little natter.

Everyone is more than than welcome.
