Welcome to SATURDAY at the Foreword Book Festival in Eye!

👑 9.30-11am - FREE children's crafts at Eye Library
🎉 11am-3pm - FREE Family Party at Eye Community Centre, with crafts and live storytelling!
📚 11am-3pm - FREE Children's and YA Book Fair at Eye Community Centre
🎭 Noon - 2.10pm - FREE storytelling Trail for grown-ups, starting at the Bank Arts Centre
🖋️ 4-6pm - Poetry Workshop (FULLY BOOKED)
✨ 5-6.30pm - Suffolk Magic and Folklore - authors in conversation at The Hexagon
🎙️ 7-10.30pm - Performance Poetry Extravaganza with Henry Normal, at the Bank Arts Centre

No need to book for our free events. For author events at the Hexagon, book your tickets in advance at our book fair. For author events at The Bank Arts Centre, book in advance in person at the bar.

The Wild Words Suffolk box is moving to Cafeye for tonight's Open Mic Night as part of the Foreword Book Festival!

Complete novice or an experienced writer, YOU are invited to write something, and post your Wild Words in the Post Box. Participation is free, and everything and anything goes! You are welcome to post anonymously, or you may choose to sign your work with your own name, or a pseudonym. The Post Box is locked, and is only opened by Jane, the project founder and organiser.

Some posts will be posted on Wild Words Suffolk public social media (but you can opt out of sharing if you prefer).

Bookish gorgeousness!

It’s the Foreword Festival UK in Eye this weekend, and so we have turned our little garden centre into ‘The Secret Garden’. It’s one of our favourite books, it describes not only just how magical and enchanting gardens can be, but also the profound impact that they can have on people! It is also beautifully written! Since reading it as a child I have always thought that a gate in a wall evokes a mystery of what might lay behind, a good book can have an enduring impact! If you haven’t read it, or not for a long time, pop over to our shop - we are picking up quite a few copies of it later today! We will also have some other nature-inspired books for sale.

There are lots of amazing events happening over the weekend, some free, others you need to book. I am definitely going to two, and hopefully some others if I can squeeze them in around running the garden centre! Check out the festival programme, there are events for all interests and ages!

The Foreword Festival Open Mic Night is TONIGHT!

7pm for 7.30, Caféye, IP23 7AF. No need to book. Pay What You Feel at the event.

Join us to perform your poems, or come along to listen. Our Poetry Open Mic Night is for everyone! We’re celebrating local poets and giving you the chance to take part and share your writing. Whether it’s your first time at the mic, or you’re a regular performer, we’d love to welcome you to the opening event of our festival.

Caféye is not charging us to use the venue, so all we ask is that you support the café by buying drinks and snacks during the event.
