Musical Theatre Company performing two shows a year at Stretton in Burton upon Trent

The Burton Musical Theatre Company was formed as Burton Operatic Society in the 1920s and re-formed in the early 1950s producing mainly Operetta. Since the late 70s, the Society has moved on from Operetta to Musicals and performs two shows a year at The de Ferrers Academy, Harehedge Lane, Stretton. Our shows range from well known ‘box office hits’ to lesser known shows that give our audiences the

opportunity to see some first class productions with sets built by our crew, and music provided by our excellent musicians.

The Addams family's towering butler may appear intimidating, but beneath his imposing exterior lies a loyal and dependable servant who has been part of the family for years. Usually a man of very few words, Lurch communicates with grunts, groans and the occasional unexpected surprise.

We're delighted to introduce Cat Palfreyman as Grandma Addams! 🖤🧪
Grandma Addams may be hundreds of years old (depending on who you ask!), but she's as lively as ever. A lover of spells, potions, and all things bizarre, Grandma is never far from the action and always ready with some unusual advice. With her sharp wit, mischievous nature, and delightfully eccentric outlook, Grandma is one of the most entertaining members of the Addams family.

We're delighted to introduce **Jonny Stewart** as **Uncle Fester**! 💡🖤

Uncle Fester is the fun-loving, moon-struck uncle who serves as the show's narrator. With his quirky outlook on life, boundless enthusiasm, and unwavering devotion to his family, Fester helps guide us through the story as the Addams family faces love, secrets, and change. Oh, and did we mention he's hopelessly in love with the Moon?

We're delighted to introduce Henri Reynolds as Pugsley Addams! 🖤

Pugsley is mischievous, inventive, and always ready to help with the family's delightfully unusual games and experiments. However, when he discovers that his beloved sister Wednesday is growing up and falling in love, he's determined to do whatever it takes to stop things from changing.

We're also pleased to welcome Henri, the newest member of the BMTC family, to the cast of The Addams Family. We can't wait for audiences to meet him this October!

Our Meet the Cast series continues, and seeing as it's Wednesday, there's only one character we could introduce today...

Or should that be two?

Where can you get two Wednesdays in one week? At BMTC, of course!

We're delighted to announce that Wednesday Addams will be played by Florence Ingham and Bea Healey, who will share the role across alternate performances of The Addams Family this October.

Intelligent, darkly witty, and fiercely independent, Wednesday is no longer the little girl her family remembers. When she falls in love with a "normal" boy and asks Gomez to keep it a secret from Morticia, she sets in motion a chain of events that turns the Addams household upside down.

Our Meet the Cast series continues as we introduce another member of our October production of The Addams Family!

We're delighted to announce Daisy Feeney as Morticia Addams. 🖤

Elegant, mysterious, and fiercely devoted to her family, Morticia is the calm and captivating matriarch of the Addams household. She shares a passionate romance with Gomez and takes great pride in preserving the family's unique traditions. When she senses that something is being kept from her, Morticia is determined to uncover the truth.

With our October production of The Addams Family now cast, and rehearsals well under way, it's time to begin our Meet the Cast series!

First up, we're delighted to introduce Edward Moore as Gomez Addams.

Passionate, charismatic, and utterly devoted to his beloved Morticia, Gomez is the heart of the Addams family. When Wednesday entrusts him with a secret, he finds himself caught between keeping his daughter's confidence and being honest with his wife – leading to plenty of chaos, comedy, and family drama along the way!

Bringing Jesus Christ Superstar to life was an absolute pleasure and a privilege from start to finish. The dedication, drive, and incredible talent of every member of the team made this production truly special. Just as important was the camaraderie and support shown throughout the process, creating a wonderful sense of community both on and off stage

We were all immensely proud of the final production, and the fantastic response from audiences made it even more rewarding. For NODA to also recognise the quality of the show was the perfect finishing touch.
