September 11th 2001 a day I will never forget 😥
25 years ago today I was in a hotel room in San Francisco, I was in the city with Phil our children and my sister Cathy. We were having a week in San Fran before we attended our uncle Arthur’s wedding.
My youngest son Luke who was only 7 at the time said to Phil “dad the same film is on every channel” Phil soon realised what he was watching was happening for real and a plane had just hit the first tower of the World Trade Centre in New York, Phil quickly woke us all and we watched in disbelief as another plane hit the 2nd tower 😥
We were all in shock as another plane hit The Pentagon in Washington. We were quickly made aware that the treat was still happening as San Francisco air space and the city was shut down.
The only thing flying were helicopters patrolling the skies. We later learned the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania was scheduled to fly to San Francisco but the brave passengers had taken on the hi jackers as they had diverted it and were heading to Washington. They all sadly lost their lives too 💔
In 2020 and again in 2023 I was honoured to visit the memorial pools in New York to pay my respect to all who lost their lives on 9/11 and in 3 weeks I will be visiting again with my sister Cathy and pay our respects together.
