‘Why I Dance’ 🪩

Introducing our new film featuring four inclusive dance groups from across the Midlands part of FABRIC's 'Keep Moving' project!

The film, made in collaboration with Romy Whai, explores why dance matters to these performers and the impact it has on their lives.

Funded by the United by 22 Legacy Charity as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Enhancement Fund, Keep Moving is the next phase of the critically acclaimed inclusive dance and movement Critical Mass project, which was produced by FABRIC and engaged hundreds of young people aged 16-30, with and without disabilities, to come together to perform as a united dance group.

Celebrating our Lichfield group, run with Liberty Jamboree 😍

As well as weekly sessions during term time, we’ve done many wonderful projects together including last year’s ECHOES with Bostin’ Creative, Aethelstan 1100 at Tamworth Castle with Motionhouse, a ballet workshop at Elmhurst Ballet School with National Youth Ballet, The Brewhouse Art Centre’s Dance Platform, Derby University Dance Showcase and Lichfield Fuse Festival! And that’s just 2024 alone! 🎉

Over the past few months, we’ve also started a sensory dance session for younger members of Liberty, using props to explore movement ❤️

We certainly like to keep busy 🕺

Last week we held a very special opening event to launch our new exhibition 🖼

We had performances from Anjali Dance Company, iDance and That! Dance and films featuring FABRIC's Keep Moving Project, Brewhouse Youth Dance and That! Dance's premiere of 'Clowning Around' 🤡
