Calling it what it is…
Burntisland Twinning Committee is, and always has been, a Cultural Youth Exchange. Every 2 years we send 4 or 5 of Burntisland’s teens (14 – 16 yrs olds) to spend a week in Flekkefjord and the following year we welcome their teens to spend a week in Burntisland. It’s been established since 1946 and so in its 80th year we are adding the words of ‘Youth Exchange’ as a subtitle to help emphasise what we actually do.

A Big Thank You
We would like to say thank you to everyone who came along to support our coffee morning in aid of the town twinning youth exchange.

Thanks to your generosity, we raised £543.28, which will go towards the activities that we're planning for July when the Flekkefjord twinners arrive in Burntisland for the youth exchange.

It was great to see so many people there enjoying the cakes, taking part in the games, and catching up over a cup of coffee. Events like this are as much about bringing the community together as they are about fundraising, and it was good to see that on the day.

Burntisland Town Twinning is dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and strengthening community links with Flekkenfjord, Norway. Burntisland was twinned with Flekkefjord in February 1946, and is believed to be one of the oldest town twinning links in the world.

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas.🎄👍🏻😁

This years Kransekake is a bit brutalist in its form as my mix would not roll into the more traditional rings… so I made cookies instead. 🤣 It resembles a light house or the Old Man of Hoy. Rudolf also lost his antlers last year so looks more like a pig rather than a red nosed reindeer. The new flags though were brought back from Flekkefjord in the summer by Charlotte on her visit specifically for this occasion.

We are very much looking forward to hosting the twinners in Burntisland this summer as we will be celebrating the 80th year of the twinning!

Eyes down and ready your dibbers for a fantastic Bingo night at The Jubilee Tavern in aid of your twinning. Next year is our 80th anniversary so fund raising is starting early.

Bingo nights at the Jubilee Tavern are great fun, they not only support good causes but also help support your local pub as well as providing the winners with cash prizes! Its a Win - Win - Win situation!

Over 18s only.
£12 a ticket available on line (see attached poster) as well as on the door, if not all sold out online. So best to secure yours early to avoid disappointment! 👍😀
