Uchenna Dance 🏆 Empowering, Entertaining and Educating through dance
👩🏾 Founded by
🪩Learning & Development Programme coming soon!

Uchenna Dance was formed in January 2009 under the vision and leadership of choreographer Vicki Igbokwe shortly after she experienced a life-changing trip to New York. Feeling like a fish out of water throughout her stay, whilst falling in love with the underground dance scene, Vicki was introduced to club styles House, Waacking and Vogue. Emerging from that experience with a new-found confidence

and feeling super empowered, entertained and educated, Vicki returned to London inspired and encouraged to support others with their journeys enabling them to be the best possible version of themselves. Since that time, Uchenna has grown from an informal explorative company to a tour de force within the dance sector. The overarching aim is to empower, entertain and educate through dance. This is an exciting time to work with Uchenna as we have just
announced a new tour of Our Mighty Groove and recently won Best Dance Performance at the Black British Theatre Awards 🥇

Emerging Futures: More questions answered by Vicki!

1. The intensive week is NOT a dance bootcamp! It is instead a space for activation, connection and movement (because we love movement!) but in a way that will be comfortable for you

2. Emerging Futures is NOT just about giving you a new set of tools - the gap that we are trying to fill is creating a support system, built with Uchenna’s founders’ more than 20 years of experience in dance and creative industries. It’s about taking that idea from the page of the notebook and working on how to put it into action!

Emerging Futures is more than a dance programme ✨

💭So many artists spend years developing technique, talent and knowledge, only to then arrive at the “what next?” moment feeling overwhelmed, isolated or unclear about how to move forward.

💜At its heart, Emerging Futures is about helping you gain the clarity, confidence and momentum to take your next step.

🙌For those who don’t know, Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu isn’t just the Creative Director of Uchenna and the award-winning choreographer behind Our Mighty Groove. She is also a coach, mentor and facilitator with more than 20 years’ experience supporting artists, creative leaders and changemakers. Through her work with organisations including Sadler’s Wells, One Dance UK, New Adventures and People Make It Work, she has helped countless creatives build confidence, navigate change, make decisions and create careers that are sustainable.

That experience is woven throughout Emerging Futures.

Whether you join our Online Programme or our Online + Intensive, you’ll spend six months benefiting from Vicki’s coaching, mentoring and leadership expertise through monthly sessions designed to help you move forward with intention.

🤗Because sometimes what we need isn’t more information but the support and space to work out what comes next.

✨ Online Programme (£300)

✨ Online + Intensive (£600)
