A massive thank you to all that came to The Ath last night! So good to see people support their local club and make nights like this possible. We saw three great sets from Mark Cram, Si Deaves and Tony Cowards, a debut for our host Wayne and finished the night with the talented Nikki Murray.

Tony Cowards

Tony is a highly regarded comedy writer and comedian. Described as 'The best joke writer around' by GQ magazine, he is a regular contributor to a number of programmes and publications. The bounty of gags on his Twitter feed alone have earned him over 14,000 avid followers. As a stand-up he's sought-after both on the circuit and as corporate act.

Tony is a rapid-fire gag merchant with an arsenal full of one-liners, for laughs-per-minute he's a tough act to beat!

His quick wit has made him a sought after act and compere by comedy clubs and promoters across the UK and even for gigs worldwide. Something of a Twitter sensation, Tony's jokes turn up in all sorts of places, from greetings cards to The Times newspaper, even if you've never heard of him there's a good chance that you'll have laughed at one of his gags.

Performing Live 23rd July Si Deaves

Si Deaves is a stand up comic hailing from the depths of Southend-on-Sea. Having realised just how odd his life and thought patterns so regularly are Si decided to turn to comedy and use it to question everything that entered his mind, from people's misunderstanding of primary school level grammar, to why Goldilocks was so cruel, all the while bemused and amused by his own fears and neuroses

Happy Easter to you all hope you have a lovely holiday. I have had a great response from acts and will get in touch with you all in time. I will also be putting on more comedy in future so if you don't get a spot this time there will always be more.
