Postponement of the 2026 Bruton Packhorse Fair.
A path between Bishton Green and Crown Green/Patwell Street, vital for access, including emergency access, to and from the principal event sites, is unusable and awaiting major repairs. For reasons beyond the organisers' control, and also that of our Town Council, it transpires that it is unlikely to be repaired on behalf of the County Council in time for the proposed date of the 2026 Packhorse Fair (August 31). Due to the unforeseen and unavoidable health and safety issues this creates, it is with great regret that, despite months of planning, we are obliged to cancel this year’s arrangements and to postpone this great Bruton community event until 2027.
