That’s a wrap on our Performing Arts Taster Day!
Today, our prospective students didn't just practice—they produced. Our Performing Arts cohort joined forces with Media and Music to recreate an intense, iconic scene from The Joker.

This wasn't just a rehearsal; it was a high-stakes multicam film set that gave our future stars a true taste of the industry.

By collaborating across departments, students gained invaluable hands-on experience:
• In Front of the Camera: Mastering screen acting techniques and hitting marks under the pressure of multiple angles.
• Behind the Scenes: Working alongside Media and Music students to understand the synergy between performance, sound, and cinematography.
From character work to technical ex*****on, our taster day provided students with a front-row seat to the professional world of film and television.

It’s about more than just the grade at HRC! 🎭

Being a performing arts student here means stepping beyond the classroom and onto the stage. While both our FE and HE curriculum is rigorous, we believe the best way to grow is through real-world performance.

That’s why our students get the chance to shine in community performances and our high-energy Cabaret Showcases. These shows aren’t assessed—they are pure opportunities to play, create, and gain the “soft skills” that the industry craves, including:

🎭 Creativity & Devising: Bringing original ideas to life.

🩰 Choreography: Taking the lead on movement and staging.

🎤 Adaptability: Learning to think on your feet in front of a live audience.
