I think it’s time to call a day in The Leopard Club. We stopped as COVID hit and unfortunately things have changed so much over time that it’s not possible to hold the Open Mic anymore. It was such fun while it lasted and thanks to everyone who came and played for your support. cheers. Stay well and keep making music x

So ....I’m also a member of a book group in Bromyard - The Books around the Downs!
Our fertile if bored brains got carried away during a WhatsApp chat the other night and - low - an ode emerged! To be honest , Maggie is mainly responsible. Anyway - I thought you might enjoy this quick Ode!

We’ll beat the Virus!

Coronavirus is spreading
No-one knows where It’s heading.
In isolation, we roam around our homes
Thank goodness for our phones!
Unable to kiss or hug
Making do with a thump or a shrug.
Loo roll is in short supply
(but no one quite knows why)
Supermarkets are rammed
The empty Isles getting jammed.
But unlike Christmas there’s no TV specials
Even East Enders and Corrie are empty vessels
And salaries are in short supply
Too many businesses face a quick goodbye.
Our oft washed hands are pink and sore
And we stand back from visitors at our door.
Our global world is shrinking fast
Who knows how long these restrictions will last?
Diaries are looking bare
In vain attempts to stave off this awful scare
But despite all the worry and the gloom
We will rise above the impending doom!
Yoga mats at the ready
Online classes help keep us steady
The internet is our saviour,
Preserving remnants of past behaviour
Video chats and WhatsApp tapping,
Let us chat and giggle and avoid excessive napping!
So despite all efforts to deprive -
We will survive and thrive!

Sadly the Leopard Club Open Mic in Bromyard will be closing it’s doors (like so many others) to you wonderful artists for the foreseeable future.
Keep safe - and keep singing, playing, composing and writing poems and stories. We look forward to hearing them soon.

Woo hoo 🎉 Our little Open Mic Club has been invited to have a tent at this Year’s Party in the Park in Bromyard on 22nd August 2020. There is a main stage with booked acts. Our marquee stage would be run as an Open Mic with the usual ‘Leopard Spots’ 🤗
Question - would you wonderful artists be interested in joining in the Party and come along and play, sing, read stories and poems if we were to go ahead and do this? Please let us know via comments below if you are interested. Thank you

The Leopard Club posse (Dave, Viv, Tess, Tracy and Donna) would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who performed at last night’s open mic at the Queens Arms, Bromyard. We may not be able to provide paid gigs or big audiences but it’s a great platform for friendship, trying new stuff and after last night - jamming (who new!). Thanks go to Mark ‘The Bard of Bromyard’, Elvis aka Martin Chapple the fab A&E, the astonishing Jack and the excellent Jane Harris and Nick (their first Leopard Spot) we hope you all come back and see us again.
