At Illumination Theatre, we believe that every child can shine. We provide professional and inclusive training in the performing arts. For ages 5 - 18.

We are an inclusive, passionate and diverse theatre company which strives for professional standards in everything we undertake. Illumination Theatre is for children and young people aged between 5 and 18, we provide professional training in the three main performing arts disciplines: Acting, Dancing and Singing. We create unique and challenging shows, sometimes scripted, and sometimes devised. Sh

ows which challenge and push our students to better their own performance abilities, whilst at the same time, allowing them to develop confidence in themselves, make new friends and, of course, have fun! We currently run two weekly classes:

Illumination Theatre Gloucester: Mondays. 4:00pm - 7:00pm
Illumination Theatre Kings Norton: Fridays. 4:00pm - 7:00pm

What a performance! ❤️🤍💙
Huge congratulations to our young company ‘ Stage It’ Youth Theatre who this afternoon told their story so strong in ‘A Street to Remember’ — a powerful, moving and heartwarming piece of original theatre marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day. 🇬🇧

With just four short rehearsals, this talented and inclusive group created something truly special: a tribute to the past, a celebration of community, and a reminder of the power of young voices.

A huge thank you to Terry, Naomi, Emma and the Blackwell Fringe committee for giving us the opportunity to share this piece as part of the very first Blackwell Community Fringe Festival — we feel honoured to have been involved!🙏

Stage It - A Heartfelt Thank You!

I love Stage It! 💖 I love our incredible students, and I’m so proud of every single one of them. It’s an honour to work with such talented, creative, and inspiring young people every week😀🎭

Their recent show, Wanderland, was nothing short of amazing—a true credit to their hard work and talent ❤️ And tonight’s small sharing of work was so heartwarming, personal, and entirely their own. It brought a tear to my eye! As does most of their incredible work 🥲

You are all an absolute pleasure to teach, and I’m endlessly proud of everything you’ve achieved this year. Thank you for a brilliant year—here’s to the next one! 🎭✨

🌟 Wanderland - What a Journey! 🌟🐇🖤🤍♦️❤️

Today, 16 incredible young performers, aged 9-16 years, took on a rigorous, sensitive, and deeply meaningful piece of theatre—and they absolutely smashed it! Their hard work, creativity, and teamwork shone through, even at lightning speed!

Stage It provides a safe space to create, imagine, and process, and today was a powerful reminder of how art can transform challenges into something positive. Huge congratulations to the cast for their bravery and dedication—you’ve all grown so much through this journey.

Massive thanks to Connor, Rob, Sham, Phil, Sue, Kate, Charlie, Carla, Rach, Stu, and Janine for your invaluable contributions behind the scenes. To all the parents and carers, your support makes this possible 🙏

Thank you for your stunning flowers 💐🍾and fizz—Henry, Liv, Leah and Hayden in particular. So, so generous and beautiful! 💚 Your kindness and thoughtfulness mean the world to me.

We proudly wore our green ribbons for mental health awareness today—a fitting reminder of why this production matters. To our talented students: you made us proud, and your teamwork and talent was a joy to witness 🤩

What can I say, Stage It - your Christmas sharing of Cinders was a real traditional treat (oh, yes it was!) 🧚🤴💕
Pantomime is a very specific form of theatre and not always easy to get right - but you all managed to ‘Sparkle and Shine’ and absolutely nail it ✨🪩
From our grotesquely gorgeous ‘Single ladies’, a wonderful Dame, a super sweet Cinderella (Isn’t She Lovely’) and an epic pantomime horse 🐴 - to name but a few of our brilliant characters - you all managed to ‘Reach’ and prove ‘Anything You Can Do..’ 💪🏻

A thoroughly festive Fairytale (of New York) you had the audience laughing along, singing along and having an absolute whale of a time - exactly what panto is all about (oh, yes it is!) A huge thank you to Blackwell Community Hall for being such a welcoming and accommodating venue - we’re very grateful 🙏🎉

Well, Stage It - what a School Trip you took us all on yesterday!! ⭐️An absolutely rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish. 🎢 You explored some heart-wrenching, relevant and sensitive issues with honesty and integrity. You had us laughing, crying and everything in between. The teamwork and creativity from you all was outstanding, you (and the audience) really were ‘walking on sunshine’. ☀️

Some of the company members are so young, many are recently joined (some as recently as Saturday!) and for many of you - this was your first ‘proper’ show in a professional space since Covid. I am beyond proud of the commitment, creativity and discipline you showed throughout 💪🏻.

The maturity needed to tackle a show like this, and get it right, is paramount. To depict characters really quite different from yourselves - and explore harrowing situations somewhat alien to yourselves, takes courage and empathy - you had that in spades. Many of you were further challenged in this show, by being cast completely against type. This wasn’t me being mean - this was me giving you a chance to grow, develop and explore what you can achieve outside of your comfort zones. Many of you took on this challenge with guts and determination and the pay off was huge. For that, you all deserve to be commended.

A huge Thank you to all the backstage help, technical team and all our parents and Carers💕💕💕

I hope you all feel positive, proud and reflective tonight. You earned your applause last night , Stage It - it really was ‘The Greatest Day.’👏👏🙏🙏🙏💕💕💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an afternoon, TT Bromsgrove, Harborne and Stage It 🎭
A spectacular performance at Picnic in the Park at Warley Woods yesterday - you smashed it. All of you really were ‘Walking on Sunshine’ ☀️and you certainly managed to ‘Pump Up The Jam’ 💪🏻in true TT and IT style! Your energy and commitment really shone (even the sun didn’t always manage to) and it was amazing to see all your hard work pay off. 😀
Considering you have all pulled this together alongside all your work and rehearsals for RAH , Disney Show and The school Trip is just phenomenal - you should all be incredibly proud! You really did bring some ‘Uptown Funk’ to Warley Woods today. 🎶
