Applications to take a stand at artBEAT 2027 at the festival next year are now open, and will close on 16th October.
artBEAT is the opening 3 day weekend for the festival (11th - 13th June 2027) that showcases the work of some of Britain’s top artists, designers and artisans in and around the main marquee on the village green in our idyllic Cotswold village. Throughout the weekend the marquee houses talented artists, printmakers, sculptors, jewellers, ceramicists, designer-makers and a host of traditional artisans demonstrating their skills & selling their work direct to the public.

Entry to the exhibitor marquees is just £1 (free for u18s). In addition to everything happening on the village green there will be art talks, creative workshops, demonstrations by well known artists and an opera picnic!

As one stallholder said: “The whole experience from application to a successful final event has been first class. In fact, the most well run art event ever for me!”

We are pleased to announce that 'Figs and Blue Curaçao' by Sara Huxley from Stratford-upon-Avon has been selected as the festival promotional image for 2027!
This fabulous entry is a finalist in our 2026 art competition, and can be viewed (and purchased!) at the exhibition which opens on Friday 25th September at Bretforton Theatrebarn.

The painting will be featured on the cover of our 2027 festival programme, on our advertising and our standard banners on the main marquee.

Sara commented:
"As a semi abstract painter, I often rely upon social occasions, photographs or memories to inspire and direct my paintings. Figs and Blue Curaçao is no exception.
I started by laying down a background of colours and textures that I loved then gradually tried to pull an image out of it. There was a particularly beautiful blue on the canvas that reminded me of a cocktail I made once for a party, whilst a student in Manchester in the 80's. We also served figs and cheese and hence this painting was born. In case you’re wondering, the party ended with us all watching the sun rise over Chorlton Fields."

Blue Lagoon:

50ml Vodka
20ml Blue Curaçao
100ml Lemonade
1 orange slice
Ice cubes

Come along and see the painting in person at the exhibition open daily from 11am-4pm 25th Sept - 4th Oct.

Student Arts Bursary - Applications open!
Are you, or someone you know, heading off to Uni to start or continue an Arts based degree? Good news!
As an arts charity, every year we award bursaries of between £500 to £2000+ to local students in full time education in the arts. This bursary applies to students studying Fine Art, Applied Arts, Music or the Performing Arts. Priority is given to applicants who currently reside in the parish of Broadway or have a WR12 postcode, but applications are also considered from neighbouring areas.

In 2025/26 we awarded just under £30,000 in bursaries supporting 22 local students at university.

How to apply: Applicants should complete the online application form on the website and submit with all supporting documents before the application deadline of 6pm on Friday 30th October 2026. Bursaries are awarded based on the strength and quality of the application. Not all who apply make it to the interview stage, this is a competitive process.

Thank you to all our festival-goers and supporters for helping to fund our bursary scheme encouraging the next generation of creatives!
If you would like to support our bursary programme, please consider becoming a Benefactor when applications open in the Autumn.
