It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear friend and much-loved entertainer, Nick Kelly, has passed away.

For around ten wonderful years, Nick was at the heart of Broadstairs Bandstand. Twice a week, he brought people together through his incredible music, warmth, humour and unmistakable personality.

Nick was far more than a superb musician. He was a true entertainer — someone who could lift a crowd, make people smile, encourage them to sing along and turn an ordinary afternoon into something truly special.

People did not simply come to hear Nick play. They came to see Nick. They came to enjoy his stories, his laughter, his energy and the wonderful sense of community he created around him.

Over the years, friendships were formed, memories were made and generations of families shared happy moments together at the Bandstand because of him. His music became part of the sound of Broadstairs, and his presence became part of the heart of our town.

Nick gave so much joy to so many people, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, working with him or watching him perform.

Our thoughts and love are with Nick’s family, friends and all those who were close to him at this incredibly sad time.

Thank you, Nick, for the music, the laughter and the memories. Broadstairs Bandstand will never feel quite the same without you.

Rest in peace, Nick. You were one of a kind. ❤️
