Join us at Uig Community Hall for some good ol’ bluegrass and mountain music this June from the amazing JB and Cardineau Sin.

Based in Boston, Franco-American Jean-Baptiste Cardineau has developed into a world class mandolin player, influenced by early innovators like Bill Monroe and friend and former mentor, Frank Wakefield.

The trio featues Canadian pickers Tim Loten on banjo and Jono Townsend on guitar.

The live album arrived on Friday, and now we’re packing the car and heading back out again.

This week it’s just the three of us: me, Heather Cartwright and Jack Smedley, travelling north for five shows across Scotland.

Small rooms, songs, stories, fiddle, guitar and whatever happens when the three of us end up spending too many hours together in a car.

I’ve been so focused on getting the album out that I’ve barely mentioned these dates at all, so this is your gentle reminder that they’re suddenly almost here.

One of Scotland’s most celebrated folk singer-songwriters, Siobhan presents an intimate trio concert, accompanied by guitar and fiddle

Recently named Musician of the Year, at the BBC Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2025, and with four Scots Singer of the Year titles and a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award, Siobhan’s discography boasts five heralded solo releases - most recently, 2022’s Bloom. An out and out, freewheeling celebration of much-loved Scottish songs, Bloom deftly balances a love of traditional song with modern influences.

Having grown up in Scotland's rich folk scene, Siobhan has been a regular performer at
Glasgow's Celtic Connections festival, where she featured amidst the star-studded line-up of Transatlantic Sessions in 2022, duetting with Paul Brady and Sarah Jarosz.

🚀 Calling all aliens, astronauts, drummers, puppeteers and parade-goers!

Fèis an Eilein returns to Kyleakin!

Join us for a week of creative workshops for children, young people and families, all building towards the spectacular Puppet Picnic Parade.

Saturday 11th - Saturday 18th July 2026

This year's theme is **SPACE** 👽✨

Here's what's happening:

🛸 11th - 17th July
Drop in and help build giant puppets from 10am to 4pm each day. 12.30pm - 1.30pm break for lunch. Bring your lunch box!

👽 Drama Workshops
Lucie Yavruturk helps you create your own alien characters and help bring a whole new world to life.

🎪 Stilt Walking
Learn to walk tall with Ewan Macintyre and become a towering creature from another galaxy.

🥁 Samba Drumming
Make some noise and help create the soundtrack for the parade with Tom Wiltshire.

Then on Saturday 18 July we'll come together for the big finale!

🎉 Puppet Picnic Parade
📍 Meet at Kyleakin Pier at 11am

Bring your puppets, costumes and creations as we parade through Kyleakin before heading to the Community Hall for an afternoon of family fun.

From 12pm to 4pm there'll be music, games, giant puppets, performances from Skye Circus and Skye Wind Band, picnic space, plenty of surprises and even a secret set from a notable Scottish name 👀
