Henry Birkett was on stage for us last night. How can such a young artist be blessed with so much talent? His guitar work is supreme, and we were treated to a brilliant selection of material - old, newer and lesser-known. A return visit cannot come too soon!
We have a special treat for our next club night, Sunday 6th September - a 4-piece band, "NOWHERE ROAD". An unknown quantity to the majority of us, we can expect a great evening. It may have been a nearly 3 year wait for the return of Paul Martin to Lone Wolf, but it was certainly worth the wait. A cracking voice, and a great selection of pure country material, none "run of the mill", so good to hear something a bit different. Full of energy, full of enthusiasm, and full of talent, Daniel Berry brought all of the above to Lone Wolf last week. No doubt the same will be said for the artist appearing with us this Sunday, 26th, PAUL MARTIN. It is almost three years since he was last with us, so we are really looking forward to seeing him back on our stage! Be assured of a seat by calling Phil, on 01732 666160. Martin Jaye was booked to be with us last Sunday, but, sadly, he was poorly, and had to cancel. However, HAYDEN was good enough to make the long journey to and from Wolverhampton to entertain us, which he most certainly did. Despite nearly 10 years largely off the scene, Haydn has lost none of his expertise, and kept everyone happy with the sort of material our non-line dance club truly enjoys. Many thanks to him for ably stepping into the breech. Our next club will be on Sunday, July 12th, when the irrepressible DANIEL BERRY brings his energy and enthusiasm to the stage. CHRIS HARRIS, last night, was concerned about his sick car (thanks to Brian/Sylvan for stepping up), and was not feeling 100% up to par, but, if that is the performance he can produce in less than perfect circumstances, it is no wonder he is considered one of the best artists on the current scene. That guy can make his guitar talk! Huge thanks to Chris for entertaining us so brilliantly. In 2 weeks, on the 28th, we will be welcoming back the ever-popular MARTIN JAYE. Hope to see you then.
