And a further clarification, in response to some of your questions, the room we’ll be using is downstairs at the Constitution club (you may have known it previously as the Conservative club but it no longer has any political affiliation)…

Dear BFCers.

Just a brief update on our previous post (and thank you to those of you who suggested ideas for possible venues 🙏).

Jo has done a brilliant job and secured space for the club to meet at the Constitution Club, not just for September but through to the end of the year 🙌.

So we will be meeting as planned on 4th September at 7.30pm, but in the Constitution Club on New Road (next to the museum) rather than the Edge.

There is a bar there and we are therefore asked to get drinks there and not bring our own drinks in.

We hope to see as many of you lovely people as possible for this next session.

Dear Brilliant Folky Collective (see what I did there 🤪)…

Just to let you know that the building at The Edge has unexpectedly had to be cleared so we are not going to be able to use it for the September BFC session.

Jo is working hard to try to find an alternative venue but it’s proving challenging so far.

We will let you know as soon as we have any firm news.

Take care of yourselves and hopefully see you on Friday 4th - somewhere 🤞.

Thank you to all of you who came to last night’s BFC session - lovely contributions and such a nice atmosphere.

As there is no BFC session in August, we will be back again in September.

In the meantime, there is lots of great live folk music around over the summer so do make a point of getting out and enjoying it. Can recommend the Harbertonfolk web listings as a great way to find out what’s on in S Devon.

And a few gigs to remind you of in July…

On Saturday 11th, the great Phil Beer is playing at 7pm at Caroline’s Kitchen in Galmpton, supported by Maggie Duffy and Bob Thompson

At 5pm on 12th, Carport Extension will be performing with Nic Janaway and Sarah Owen at Kingskerwell Parish Church.

And on the evening of 23rd July, Carport Extension and All Hands on Deck are performing at Stoke Gabriel Village Hall.

Hope you have a great summer and we’ll look forward to seeing you again in September.

Also, Carport Extension will be joining the Brixham Orpheus Male Voice Choir for their annual concert at 3pm on Saturday 18th July at St Mary’s Church, Churston. 👍
