❌COVER UP IMPORTANT INFO ⬇️⬇️⬇️
My customer approached me with hopes of making her tattoo look a bit better. She explained she isn't a "tattoo person's and didn't want anything too big. She ideally just wanted to rework the rose. I explained that cover ups need to be bigger and darker than what's there and tried to manage her expectations.
🤖WHY AI IS NOT ALWAYS HELPFUL 🤖
Initially, she used AI to help with ideas, but unfortunately, all of the suggestions were unrealistic. A consultation and a few sketches later, we reached a point where she was happy with a design.
🚨🚨PLEASE REMEMBER 🚨🚨
covering up black ink can only be done with something darker and bigger. ((Very experienced colour artists may be able to come up with other solutions)).
🌼 Here, I used black ink to try to draw some contrast, and white ink to hopefully keep the leaves readable. As always, a cover up like this will look beautiful and crisp when you leave the shop, but as it heals and settles, the result may be a little different.
I was really honest with my customer and we are going to see the healed result and decide on whether we need to go again, with darker and lighter tones on the leaves. We will also then make sure the bottom leaves match the top ones, so it distracts from the fact it's a cover-up.
Thank you for your trust Hilary!
