Dmacuk Inalingment Studios

Dmacuk was created in 2009 by artists and tutors who due to high costs were searching for a an affordable venue to teach their classes. By chance we were drawn to Hamilton House in the early stages of its development here in Stokescroft Bristol.

Co-Exsist, who were managing the project at that time offered us the opportunity to manage a space so we joined forces and set about creating the studios. We funded this development from our own pockets injecting money into purchasing equipments and our only help came when Bristol City Council contacted us and offered to match our costs for completing the floor for our largest studio. From this time we have made this venue one of the best looking and largest studio in the South West, certainly the largest in Bristol.

We achieved our aim of providing affordable spaces for practitioners of all different disciplines and practices offering a variety of experiences for the community to come and benefit from. We have always had the welfare of our practitioners at hand and is why we help them to settle in by advertising and promoting their classes so they have a better chance of developing their classes and business.

It is our 10th year ( 2009- 2019) and we are proud to now be in a position where we are managing all aspects of our business ourself as we were in partnership with the previous management company. It has not been easy as we are still continuing without ever receiving any funding, even though costs for running the studios has risen quite alot since our inception.

We are more than just a dance studio, We pride our self in the efforts we make to positive connection with the peoples and organisations of the Bristol community and surrounding regions and nationally especially working with children and disadvantage youngsters.

We are making efforts by creating a web page, soon to be put on the portal ( MAMA AFRICA) aimed at giving teachers the tools to teach subjects in schools that they are not trained for. It is our effort to help bridge the widening gap in the different culture now living in our society as their stories are not shared enough so to create a more equal understanding of each other.

As directors we are all active either: Teaching Classes, Performering, Leading projects and involved in many aspects of our dance and local community. We thank you for being one of our supporter or user and we hope to be here doing our best to provide a service to you and those me meet who need in help improving their Spiritual, health and mental wellbeing.
