CRIPtic Arts returns to Bristol with a genre-defying showcase of new writing from some of the UK’s boldest emerging disabled theatre makers, directed by OFFIE winner Jamie Hale.

THE ACTS
To***co Factory Theatres
3–4 September 2026

The Acts is a showcase of performances, where myth meets mischief, honesty meets absurdity, and nothing is what you expect. Urgent, inventive, and unapologetically original, it’s an invitation to witness disabled artists not in the neat boxes we’re expected to be in, but as we choose to be.

🎭 Ride the Wind: Weaving Yoruba mythology, puppetry and West African dance to induce a state of enchantment, this original Afro-fantasy musical reaches across the vastness of history and through the artificial veil of colonial disenfranchisement. When an ostracised, disabled boy is granted the power of flight by a Storm Goddess, will he use it in vengeance or heroism?

🎭 The Making of The Eye Show: Everything anyone’s ever thought about eyes, visual impairment and able anxiety. A bold, funny and awkward satire of the diagnosis show, in reaction to Kat’s own impulse post diagnosis of a degenerative eye condition to make a pity party piece. Featuring clowning, stand up and storytelling.

🎭 The Double Draw: Two rival sister huntresses, one craving control, one craving freedom, compete beneath the goddess Artemis’ watch.
A circus show blending archery, duo acrobatics, physical theatre, contemporary dance and contortion.

🎭 HOT COLD: Grace has a lot on her plate: Her husband is keeping a s*x diary, her mother keeps flashing the nurses … and Grace is pretty sure she is turning into a giant lizard. A funny and raw exploration of perimenopause, being part of the sandwich generation and not recognising your own body.

Show information:
• 1hr 40 (including interval)
• Age guidance: 16+
• Tickets from £14 (link in bio)

🧏 All performances are relaxed and have integrated audio description, BSL-interpretation and captioning.

Come down to To***co Factory Theatres this September to see ‘Pieces Of My Life’!

A new show written and performed by Bristol-based artist Kirris Riviere and produced by Ad Infinitum.

Faced with the task of clearing his mum’s council flat days after her death, Kirris sets up a podcast studio in his childhood home, recording the story of his life before he has to leave for good.

With original music, powerful storytelling and humour, he confronts identity, grief and the lifelong struggle with systemic racism, in a deeply human exploration of defiance, family and home.

🎟️ Tickets available on the To***co Factory Theatres website
🗓️ 8 - 11 September

🧏 The performance on Friday 11 September will be BSL interpreted by Sherrie Eugene-Hart. There will be a panel discussion after the performance which will also be BSL interpreted.

Opera stands accused of being stuffy, confusing and stuck in the past.

Our verdict? Not guilty.

Sung in English, performed metres away and packed with comedy, drama and extraordinary live music, this is opera without the opera-house formality.

Don Giovanni, however? That’s another matter…

Swipe for the evidence.

This is opera, but not as you might expect it.

Darkly funny, psychologically complex and uncomfortably relevant, Don Giovanni explores how charm, power and privilege can place a man beyond consequence.

👽 Schools Takeover 2026🧀

In July, TFT had the privilege of working with students from New Fosseway School, a specialist school for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

With the support of experienced facilitators, students co-created an original piece of theatre over several weeks, developing creative, communication and teamwork skills throughout the process.

The project culminated in a performance on TFT’s professional stage, creating a memorable opportunity for young people to share their creativity with audiences.
