Joe's Garage

Joe's Garage Central Bristol based recording studio specialising in capturing exciting live recordings. The studio is located in a basement with a comfy, down to earth feel.

Joe's Garage is a recording studio located right in the heart of Old Market in central Bristol. We specialise in capturing exciting, vibey live performances with varying (or no) degrees of separation for live 'band in a room' sounds or more Hi-Fi results. Joe’s Garage has a large main live room, separate amp booth areas and control room. The main live room is big enough to have 5-6 people playing

live together. The studio houses a great selection of equipment and is constantly being upgraded

Joe’s Garage is moving!
We’ll be starting 2025 in a fantastic new space, we’re buddying up with House of Dunce and moving into St Dunstan’s House in Bedminster, Bristol.

The studio has two good sized live rooms - one with a dry sound and a low ceiling and the other with high ceiling and original church windows. There is also a good sized booth in between the two rooms with windows between all three spaces. Excellent for tracking full bands live with separation and flexible ambience. The control room is on an isolated mezzanine with plenty of space to comfortably fit a band and pedalboards/keys etc for mixing and overdubs.
Initial rate will be £250 pd. We’re taking bookings now for February onwards.

We’ll be sharing some more pics during the moving process throughout January.

Huge thanks to all at Exchange which the studio has called home for 10 years! It’s been an amazing community of wonderful people to be a part of and we’ll miss you all.
