Today was a day filled with both sadness and gratitude as Melody Makers Choir had the great honour of singing at the funeral of our much-loved choir member, Mike Salisbury.

Mike was an extraordinary man whose remarkable career at the BBC Natural History Unit saw him work alongside Sir David Attenborough on some of the world’s most iconic wildlife programmes. Yet to us, he was simply Mike – kind, humble, thoughtful, with a wonderful twinkle in his eye and a smile that could light up any rehearsal.

It was a privilege to sing three of Mike’s favourite songs as we celebrated a life so well lived. Seeing Sir David Attenborough there today was a touching reminder of the respect and friendship Mike inspired throughout his life, but what meant the most was remembering the man we knew and loved as part of our choir family.

Mike’s warmth, gentle humour and encouragement touched every one of us. He made people feel welcome, valued and appreciated, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Thank you, Mike, for the music, the laughter, the stories and the friendship. It was our honour to sing you home.

Our thoughts and love are with all of Mike’s family and everyone who knew and loved him 💚💜💚 As Mike once said, ‘I’ll seize you soon’ RIP xoxox

MMC are thrilled to learn that our Stars and Stories performances at Bristol Beacon received an NPS score of 100. 💯 NPS is used to measure satisfaction and 100 quite simply can’t get any better! It shows exceptional artistic excellence and high customer satisfaction. Average score for UK entertainment is 30-50, so this score has smashed that average out the water!!! Congratulations MMC and thank you to everyone who came to support us. 🥳💜💚

What a day! MMC celebrated our 10 year anniversary gig at Bristol Beacon last night. Thank you to everyone who came to support us. Were you there?! Did you enjoy it?!
