Wildseed Studios exists to enable creators by providing investment to take their work to the next level, creative mentorship to tell better stories and strategic advice on how to turn the results into entertainment franchises. We look for ideas in animated and live action adult comedy, genre fiction (scifi, fantasy and horror), and kids 6-11. We make lots of creative contributions, but we never gi
ve our creators compulsory notes. We believe that the best results are achieved when creators are supported by best practices so they can better express their own vision, as opposed to trying to control the precise creative outcome. We offer three stages of funding to creative projects:
Our first investment is capped at £10k – but we make that money go a long way - so far, for example, we have made a number of 5 x 10’ comedy series at this first £10k investment level. Ideas which we feel have connected with the audience may then receive a second round of investment capped at £25k. Like the first round – we make the money go a long way too. Last year for example – we made a Sci Fi movie for £23k which premiered at the BFI in London in May 2014. For ideas that really look as if they have the potential to break out - we offer a third and final round of up to £100k. We haven’t made an investment at that level yet – but we really look forward to doing so!
