A normal Black Sheep Harmony rehearsal at Hanham Community Centre? Is there any such thing! 🤣
Warm up with Noey & Sue, a real tongue twister, literally, as we sang with contortionist mouth and tongue positions. Followed by Christmas repertoire - yes, we know it's June, more of that another day, finishing off with In the Hall of the Mountain King, trying to incorporate some moves. Great fun all evening. Thanks for being such a fantastic bunch of gals!

Last night we devoted most of our rehearsal to support a very special charity, dear to several member's hearts - the Stroke Association.
We wore purple clothes and accessories, sampled purple cakes and drink, enjoyed a purple themed quiz and raised money for the Association. A huge thanks to Debbie Teml for the cakes and quiz, you are a star!
The track is our rendition of The Mika Challenge, a section of the song Grace Kelly, which we sang a while back, with the lyrics "You can be hurtful, you can be purple, you can be anything you want!" Listen with sound.

Michael Ball says "Join a Choir" on BBC Breakfast this morning. Talking about dementia in his family and how music is the last memory to go. So why not join us at one of our rehearsals, 7:30pm on Thursday nights at Hanham Community Centre! Keep the brain cells active and make memories for the future! 😉

We were so sad to hear today of the passing of the wonderful Emma Britton.

Emma was a warm and witty host when Black Sheep Harmony performed at the Christmas carol concerts in 2018 and 2019. She was a firm favourite with the audience and such a generous human being.

Emma will be much missed. May she rest in peace. 🌹

Emma Britton spoke openly after being diagnosed with stage four lung cancer last April.

Last night's rehearsal turned into some fun when we all had to pretend we were creeping away from the trolls as we sang Simon Arnott's arrangement of Edvard Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King". It was supposedly to help us with the increased pace of the song but somehow not particularly successful. But you have to try these things and we did have a giggle!!

We raised £50 our rehearsal last week for this wonderful cause.

Help us raise vital funds, improve care and support for families facing dementia and spread the word about our specialist dementia nurses.

Wonderful day yesterday at our latest Sing Appella event. We met some great potential new members, and enjoyed learning a new song with them. Thank ewe for joining us, we hope to see you soon at a rehearsal!
