Suzan Peeters accordionist, composer and improviser pushing the acoustic spectrum of the accordion to its limits. Transforms the accordion through extended techniques, objects, and live electronics. Rapidly becoming recognised as one of the most promising names in Belgium’s experimental music scene and was a big stand out at this year’s Rewire festival.

Augustė Vickunaitė mesmerising live performances utilise malfunctioning reel-to-reel tape recorders, manipulating scraps of tape to create intoxicating layered audio collage. A virtuoso of her own fully analogue process, her sets unfold with a dramaturgy reminiscent of cinema or theatre and might range from oneiric concrète music to explosive noise.

makes music, sound and art using stringed instruments, long tones, found objects, field recordings and friction. Originally from Lancashire, Jon is now based in Stockholm and has toured extensively across the world. Releases on Discreet Music (SWE), Feeding Tube Records (USA), Fort Evil Fruit (IRE), World of Echo and DDS (both UK). Collaborations inc. Demdike Stare, Bill Nace, Sarah Hughes, Troth.

GRIS MARGUERITE an audio-visual performance by Sarah McWatt and Wesley Loveday. It is an exploration of nightmares developed from conversations about dreams between the two artists over many years. Processed assorted woodwind, tuned bicycle wheel, voice, hulusi and feline percussion. The performance takes place from within a black pyramid. Bristol debut!

QWAK club this Saturday evening at the Cube Microplex.

The Sprigs, who bring their hazy, crackling free-folk numbers to the Cube this Saturday night, have just shared a new music video for their track 'Freedom Is The Mole Who Will Turn The World Upside Down' to help tempt you along to their live concert! The track is taken from their very new and fresh LP 'For Red Riverbank', out on the v trusty Bison Records.

Later in the evening we're expecting the Yorkshire's blown out trombone, cello and drums combo .band to send the Cube's tin roof into orbit as they lock into a wild and free face melting set. The heatwave was nothing.

Before that we'll have the mang himself, fulfilling his destiny of being the undeniable biggest mang both on and off the planet. Expect 25 minutes of heaven.

Opening the evening, the Cube is blessed to be hosting the man of the moment, the singular . No one but him knows what his performance will entail. Explore some of his youtube videos to try and get your head around TC's approach, we don't have the words for it. 

They'll also be the launch of an exhibition of new artworks by talented chap Laurie Owens and your disc-jockey for the evening will be Hebejeebies - filling the air with luminous musics we should know and love.

Completely nonsensical bill featuring three acts visiting Bristol for the first time. The event will launch an exhibition of new artwork by Laurie Owens and if the weather is good - they'll be the opportunity to imbibe cocktails and performances (maybe) in the Cube's delightful garden.
band  - New trio venture from Sophie Cooper (trombone logic extender), Flo Christman (drums!) and Tom Hawkins (gravel voiced cello) Long form dub adjascent lock in improv'd noise minimalism. THE SPRIGS - Slap-dash free-folk trio currently celebrating the release of their first long player proper: 'For Red Riverbank' out last month on one of our favourite labels - Bison Records. Characterised by Time is Away as a ‘Beautifully scrappy meeting point between diaristic real-world clatter and a particular strain of folk-pop romanticism’. 

THOMAS CARROLL - Mostly works in improvisation, performing using feedback electronics and scavenged devices (‘some-input mixer’). Sometimes he performs pieces that are closer to ‘composition’ by some definition. He runs Free Music Lessons, a gig series in Leeds; and co-runs Conception, an experimental open mic night in Leeds. Releases on: Marginal Frequency, Infant Tree, Kirigirisu, Why Keith Dropped the S, Teorema di Gasparo, Sawyer Spaces.

ROBERT RIDLEY-SHACKLETON - What makes a party a party? RRS makes a party a party. Our beloved Cardboard Prince has just funk'd up Glasgow and Edinburgh and is now back in the mothership for his first home performance in a little while.

Not so fresh from Bury St Edmunds, Duvel Mortgage’s special brand of country music is ready to tackle the territories of England. Advancing in their customary triangular fashion, at times on their knees, they will effect a peregrination from the City of Bristol to The Vale of Pewsey by way of Northern Gloucestershire. Duvel Mortgage are keeping the score as they begin to investigate The Chalcotribe Mysteries. Tracing a fine line between elemental terrors and Brass Rubbings, these sacred arts can rub you up the wrong way. What price, rest?

RICHARD THOMAS
Usually spotted in Bristol performing with Secluded Bronte. Will perform a solo 10 minute set immediately before Duvel Mortgage. Not received any indication of what to expect.

TAPSEW
High drama duet of sewing machine and tap dance, amped up and projected featuring long-term BEEF'ers Sam Francis, Eliza Lomas, Kathy Hinde plus Matthew Olden. Scissors on thread; needle through cotton; metal via body on floor. The sounds of the machine and tones of the floor played out in tap, creating pace, tempo and rhythm in repetition and unification. 'The escapism of showbiz with the repetitive labour of industry…'

PATSY DELVE
The drag alter-ego project of Bristol based musician Noah Radley. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Cindy Lee, Velvet Underground and The Paris Sisters, PD harkens back to a time and place barely remembered; red-tinted hues, dusty highways and corners of dark late night bars.

Doors open at 7.30pm with music beginning at 7.45pm.
