Last week, a team from Neighbourly came together to w**d, garden and tidy the outdoor areas around St Werburghs Community Centre - helping to breathe new life into a space that means so much to the local community in this Bristol neighbourhood. πŸ›πŸŒ±

Days like this show why employee volunteering really matters. It strengthens community ties, gives colleagues a chance to give back with hands-on support, and turns a shared few hours into a lasting difference for the local area.

This World Environment Day, we're thinking about the food bank volunteers who show up every week without fail, the community gardens growing food in forgotten corners of cities, the local groups stretching every donation as far as it can go.

They remind us that sustainability has always been rooted in community - in sharing, in caring for what we have, and in looking out for each other.

That's the spirit that drives everything we do at Neighbourly. Connecting businesses with the brilliant local causes that are quietly making their neighbourhoods a better place, every single day.

Can a beach clean-up build a stronger community?

Upmo believes it can. 🌊

This , we're celebrating the volunteers and organisations proving that meaningful action looks different for everyone. In Musselburgh, Upmo brings adults with learning disabilities together to care for their coastline - and in doing so, they're creating something far bigger than a clean beach.

It's inclusion. It's purpose. It's the pride of making a real difference, together.

Stories like this are why we do what we do - connecting businesses, volunteers and good causes so that every person has a role to play in their community.

Today is and it's a reminder of why local-level action really matters.

Every day, businesses and store teams across the UK rely on Neighbourly to redirect surplus food to charities and community groups in their area. To date, that's added up to over 330 million meals reaching people who need them most.

It won't end world hunger on its own. But it means fewer people in your community go without. Small actions, multiplied across thousands of places. That's how change happens.
