The Empire Theatre is a pop up arts space on Old Market in Bristol. This unique and captivating building hosts an exciting and varied programme of performance, cultural and music events. On a trip to The Empire you might find anything from sophisticated sit down cabaret shows, to large parties with music and circus performance

, gigs, cinema and more. Long winding red corridors lead you to a splendid historic banking hall with pillars, ornate stonework and a mezzanine balcony. The venue's more notorious uses in recent times are given away by metal bars, which sit in surreal opposition to the grand buildings architecture. CHRISTMAS PARTIES WITH EMPIRE THEATRE

The theatre can accommodate all manner of events from small and intimate creative events to large scale gigs and parties. The venue is spread over two large rooms and one smaller room with a tech spec includes aerial rigging, large stages, cabaret seating, stage lights, and PA for live music. The Empire Theatre was opened as part of the regeneration of the Old Market area which is a conservation area of national significance and contains many historic buildings. Exciting changes are currently afoot on Old Market, and it is fast becoming Bristol’s bohemian quarter. Teams of artists are taking up residence and quirky vintage stores springing up amongst the multicultural shops, gay bars and music venues. The Empire plays tribute to a very notable theatre of the same name which previously existed on Old Market.

This Friday at Empire Theatre we have White Bully Soundsystem launching their assured debut album of hip-hop hypnosis and featuring Moscovite vocalist Lena Kaufman / Truffele. Support comes from their alternative up-beat Soundsystem DJ set, plus guest decktician Appleblim weaves low-end sonic spells alongside spoken word incantations from Beady Man and a coruscating custom light show by TripleGeek.com.
