Steve Burden
Steve Burden grew up on a high-rise council estate in Deptford, London called the Pepys Estate, which at the time of his childhood was exclusively social housing. He lived in a council flat, part of a working-class family and it was this environment, hardship and social circumstance which has spurred him on to pursue the arts. Steve graduated from Goldsmiths College, London with First Class Honours and Bath Spa University with a Masters Degree in Fine Art (distinction). Recent solo exhibitions include Made from Deptford, No Format Gallery, Deptford; Pigs at Pepys, Lane House Arts, Bath; Utopian Myths, Black Swan Arts, Frome and The Pepys, Roper Gallery, Bath

Ruth Broadway
With a background in illustration, Ruth now concentrates on making work that tells stories. Her work is a walk through the [deep dark] woods, even if you find yourself in the city. Influenced by traditional folk and fairy tales, she uses slow, low-tech, folk-craft methods; taking and tending to lost and forgotten things. She creates intimate rituals and humble ceremony as part of the work, attempting to make these items personal, everyday talismans and totems.
