Swann Glass Lampwork glassblower based at Rockaway Park, near Bristol. Glass jewellery, sculptures , marbles In particular Lydia has a unique use for colouring pencils.

Lydia graduated from the Norwich University of Art in 2012 with a BA Hons in Visual Studies. Her work has themes of function and reuse, with upcycling being a big influence. She use objects which would have been thrown away and transforms them to create functional items such as jewellery, clothes and accessories. She collects pencils which are discarded from factories and transforms them into wear

able art. Her creations include earrings, pendants, brooches, keyrings and coasters in all the colours of the rainbow. Lydia loves geometric designs and the endless possibilities of ways to upcycle pencils, using many traditional wood working techniques. She is passionate about saving waste from landfill and giving familiar items a new lease of life. Since spending 6 weeks in Venice, after graduation, Lydia became fascinated by glass. She learnt the basics in a hot shop at Salt Glass Studio in North Norfolk then travelled about learning at different studios across the UK. Now she has her own set up doing lampworking. Lampwork involves heating rods of glass on a propane and oxygen torch and manipulating them with heat, gravity and tools. She creates sculptures and jewellery at her workshop in Rockaway Park, Temple Cloud, Bristol. Call in for a demonstration or lesson or drop her an email for more information
