DO NO HARM | Opens Tomorrow, Friday 12th JuneπŸ”¬

Do No Harm is the fourth annual exhibition presented by a group of Bristol medical students. The independently run exhibition, originally co-founded byΒ  Diya K and Alphi B, highlights the insights of healthcare workers in their personal and professional lives.

While the artworks on display belong to a variety of mediums and practices, they all touch on the lived reality of working in the medical field.Β

Some art will be for sale with proceeds going to Artspace Lifespace, a Bristol charity aimed at making art more affordable.

Adult supervision is advised as some art reflects mature themes, indicated by content warnings on the art labels.

Participating Artists: Alba Jassem | Daksh | James Rudolf | Manisha Premlal | Natasha Layland | Sophie Fishel | Tugba

SEEING DIFFERENTLY | Opens This Friday🎒

Seeing Differently brings together three exciting contemporary artists - Jessie Woodward, George Henry Rowe, and Emma Anne (House of Abstract) - whose practices offer distinct yet intersecting approaches to abstract painting.

Each artist engages with abstraction uniquely: instinctive and embodied mark making that is both intuitive yet planned, systemic and technological construction and deconstruction shaped by memories and cultural artefacts, and the accumulation and reworking of surfaces informed by the textures of the urban.Β Β

STILL ANE MAIR | Opens Friday, 29th of May⛓️

Still Ane Mair (Scots: Still One More) is a solo exhibition by Marly Merle, concluding a year-long Freelands Foundation Fellowship at Bath Spa University. It extends the work first presented in Ane After Anither, the initial exhibition iteration.

Merle builds hybrid forms that sit between object, body and structure, drawing on fragments of the everyday, including garments, furniture and found materials.

Through reconstructing and reworking different materials, Merle creates a texturally and materially rich and diverse set of glyphs that are named in the Scots language.

The works hold a tension between recognition and dissolution, where meaning is never fully secured but continually shifting.

MUD METAL OIL | Opens This FridayπŸͺœ

MUD METAL OIL is a group exhibition showing the works of a dynamic collective of local artists across a range of contemporary fine art practices.

While each artist works in their own way, their approaches share a deep commitment to process, exploration, and expression.

By consolidating a diverse portfolio of artistic mediums under one roof, the exhibition seeks to bridge distance between different artistic fields and genres.

In doing so, it reveals the beauty that emerges when individual voices merge to form a collective whole.

Participating Artists: Ali Topan | CΓ΄me Roumegoux | Conner Gard | Harry Brown | Jem O’Carroll | Karen Painter | Rob Carter

EXHIBITION SHOWCASEπŸ“·

OPENS NEXT WEEK

Boomsatsuma’s Exhibition Showcase is a group exhibition displaying the works of thirteen budding photographers who exemplify photography’s capacity for worldbuilding across genres.

Each young talent approaches and informs their camera work with their own methods of storytelling, conceptual framing and aesthetic drive, resulting in work that reframes the world around them through their own individual lens.

The combination of wildlife observation, human stories, abstract visuals, and fashion fantasies positions the camera as a vessel for one’s point of view, an instrument allowing each photographer to reveal what captivates and catches the eye. The showcase is also a snapshot in itself, capturing a key moment in the creative development of this artistic cohort.

Participating Artists: Ash Hillier-Smith | Frankie Rhodes | Georgia Georgiadi | Hannah Daniels | Joel Smyth | Joseph Sermon | Kieran Jarvis | Lily Wylde | Poppy Wallington | Rosie Ward | Scarlet Cowan | Sharayah Williams | William Townshend
