When the week winds down and the lights get low, Lee McCrory takes the stage at The Fringe for a night of raw, restless songcraft
Leave the drudge of the last week behind and tune in for a night of experimental acoustic guitar, gruff, lived-in vocals and a sound that wanders freely between Tom Waits’ midnight growl, Bob Dylan’s poetic bite, Justin Sullivan’s fire and the soul-deep pulse of Bob Marley
Lee McCrory’s monthly residency lands on the first Friday of every month — a regular gathering for those who like their music honest, eclectic and a little untamed

🧡 SEPTEMBER AT THE FRINGE 🍂

Summer’s not quite done and neither are we! September is packed with new faces, old favourites, and a few very special events to look forward to 🙌

First up: we are absolutely thrilled to welcome the legendary Jason Rebello to the Fringe for the first of his four-part residency on Sunday 6th! An open workshop runs from 11am followed by a concert from 2pm. One of British jazz’s finest pianists, this one is very special and very mush ticketed; we advise you grab yours on Headfirst before they go! 🎹

Faith in Strangers will be gracing our back room on Wednesday the 2nd AND Wednesday the 9th! This emerging Bristol indie folk five-piece are drawing comparisons to Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes, and we can see why. Do not sleep on these shows! ✨

Saturday 12th is Clifton Village Day and we are joining the party! 🎉 Crêpes from 1-5pm, PM Legrand performing from 3pm, and a live DJ set to round off the celebrations. Come for the neighbourhood vibes, stay for everything else 🥞

Great news for fans of our fabulous regular performers too; The smoothest crooner Marvin Muoneké is back in action on Thursday 3rd after a summer away since June, The Dylagans return on Thursday 10th, Livvy Hylton-smith (Olivia Olwyn)’s Trio is back on Friday 25th, and John E Vistic’s mythic Sunday Blues Club on Sunday 27th!🧡

And of course, all our usual events will be holding down the September rhythm throughout: Hot Club Jam, Peanut Butter Jam, Jazz Rendezvous, Back Door Comedy, Marc Long’s Magic Nights, Jukebox Saturdays and more!🎶

Join us tonight for the Henrik Jensen Trio — an intimate, lyrical and exploratory jazz trio led by Danish bassist & composer Henrik Jensen, joined by the brilliant Esben Tjalve on piano and Dave Smith on drums.

Monday kicks off with at 8pm. Last Monday of the month, hip-hop/jazz fusion, free entry with donations to the Let’s Talk charity welcome. 🎸

Tuesday brings us to Fringe In The Round at 8pm! Our intimate concert series continues, this time presenting the elegant soundscapes of , accompanied by jazz heavyweights Esben Tjalve (piano) and Dave Smith (drums). Certainly not one to miss!

Wednesday features ’s Magic Night at 6:30pm, then at 8:30pm. A hotly-tipped Bristol five-piece crafting emotionally charged indie folk with rich three-part harmonies and expansive guitar arrangements. ✨

Thursday welcomes at 8:30pm. The Young Man with the Old Soul, as effortless as ever. 🎺

Friday belongs to .mccrory.7 at 9pm. Folk-adjacent experimental acoustic, gruff vocals, entirely his own thing. 🍸
Saturday sees Marco’s Pop Up Magic shows from 3pm-6pm, followed by our free Jukebox Night from 8pm. 🎶
Sunday is a real exciting one! kicks off at 11am with his open workshop; playing, learning jazz, asking him anything. His concert follows at 2pm-4pm. Following this, Steve Payne brings world class roots, blues and boogie at 5:30pm. The hosted Open Mic Night closes out the week at 8:30pm. 🎤
